Monkeys in my Kitchen
Yes, from the Princess to the Taster, to the apprentice(s), we had a kitchen full of monkeys. So, that makes me the zookeeper, I suppose. (grin)
Madi and Maci, the Apprentice Monkeys, spent the night last night while their parents attended a retirement party for one of the local corrections officers. Bud and Makayla came to see them and help make supper.
The Monkey Princess decided to make elephant ears because everyone loves them. She dug out my fancy deep fryer (grin) and started:
She sprinkled them with sugar and cinnamon and her brother acted as official Tasting Monkey:
Apprentice Monkey Maci rolled out pizza dough:
While her sister, Apprentice Monkey Madi watched the pizza so it didn't burn:
And showed off her own personal creation, LOL. All the kids made their own pizzas, hers had...well....cheese. Lots and lots of cheese.
Bud and Makayla had to go home, and it was bedtime, but I promised brownies the next day. So, up at 7:30 am and after macaroni and cheese and some bacon (yeah, really) for breakfast, we started on the brownies.
We baked them, then crumbled them up and rolled them into balls, which we froze. When they were good and cold, we dipped them into vanilla candy melts and made snowmen. A sprinkle of coarse sugar served as "snow".
And of course, the leftover black frosting had to be eaten.....
The Monkeys have all gone home and the zoo is quiet. For now.

Comments (20)Marlen's Pull Apart Bacon Bread... (I've made it and it is yummy)!! Pull Apart Bacon Bread ( by Marlen) 1 pkg (10 oz) bacon 3/4 c green pepper, chopped 3/4 onion, chopped 3 tubes (7-1/2 oz each) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits 1/2 cup margarine, melted 1/2 c (2oz) shredded cheddar cheese Cook bacon until crisp. Drain, reserving drippings. Crumble and set aside. In bacon drippings (or vegetable oil) cook green pepper and onion until tender. Cut biscuits in fourths and place in large bowl. Add sauteed vegetables, crisp bacon, margarine and cheese. Toss until thoroughly mixed. Place in a 10" tube pan or bundt pan coated with Pam. Bake at 350* for 30 minutes. Immediately invert onto serving plate. Serve warm. Flames...I don't see why you couldn't add some pecan's... Comments (23)Jwins - the granite is Exodus. If you have a hard time finding it, we got it from a large Dal Tile stone yard. Marilyn234 & Lynn2006- I am sorry but Evil Monkey got tired of living alone and is forcing us to move this next week-end. He said either we move or no more treats for us! Evil Monkey can be very cruel. That means that all that information is in a box someplace in our other house. What I can tell you that the backsplash tile is nothing special. It is just the same tumble marble that you see in every stone yard. The difference is that we used a stone enhancer on it instead of just sealing it. Makes a world of difference in the color. Before it was just an ugly whitish color. I can tell you that when I first saw it after it was up, I almost cried because it wasn't anything like what I had wanted. But once I put the enhancer on it, it was perfect. As for the grout, all I can tell you is that was one of the standard ones from Dal Tile. I've been trying to find my record of who if came from, Laura or Nancy - think it was Laura, but Nancy - you say you had a poly on yours - did I get it from you? I guess they don't always poly, and I won't necessarily see that effect next time. I crossed it with some stuff, hoping that I can pass those genes along, as I like the look! Brad and Debra - I appreciate your feedback about the branching. It was difficult to get a good pic; at the end of the season, I will gather the scape and if I'm still unsure, I will ask again with a better photo showing just the scape without background to interfere.
