Comments (37)Edie...Funny story...last summer, Sean had some buddies over for a swim. His friends know where Sean's plant collection is--grouped together near the house by the pool. One of the guys decided to be a smart a--, and grabbed one of the smaller cacti in a pot and yelled to another guy in the pool, "let's play keep away from Sean...". Now mind you, these were all baseball players with pretty good arms... One of the other 'new' guys said "hey..throw it here" (he was in the pool-not knowing what kind of plant it was). Sean just stood there shaking his head and told them I don't think you want to do that...the kid threw the plant to the other kid, and he caught it mid-air about 30 feet away---along with a handful of thorns!!! OUCH!!!! I'll never forget the scream! Sean said "they'll never touch my plants again!!!" Yes, boys will be boys......See MoreTuesday Clumps and BackYard Daylily Bed
Comments (14)I've been going up and down and up and down just taking in all your lovely flowers. The garden shots are great, since there is so much green in addition to the flower colors. Those of us in the no-rain zones are pretty tired of burned out brown. I do love all of them but I'll just mention Dancing With Sandra, Late Round, and Pinhill Claret Symphony. Hope there are still more late bloomers to come. I'll be watching. Avedon...See MoreI would love to show you my backyard!
Comments (7)It will be beautiful when the daylilies bloom. You are definitely one of the daylily loving tribe...and I am too. Northeast Georgia? Then you are cooler than central Alabama, but not being able to grow grass around daylilies isn't all bad...you don't have to fight runners that way. Wat is the little tree in the third paragraph? Is it going to get big enough to shade your daylilies? I ask because I am pretty close to cutting down my Japanese Magnolia because I have run into the shading problem...I have been whittling on it...your backyard is lovely, and it will only get prettier as the season starts. kay...See MoreCan you please id this vine growing in my friend's backyard?
Comments (4)Primrose jasmine is not a vine, though I can understand how it might appear to be one. It's a shrub that sends out long arching stems, and it can get 8 ft high and 10 ft wide. It suckers and is often used to cover slopes....See Morenewhostalady Z6 ON, Canada
