I know I showed HARD TIMES yesterday but it snuck in here today also as a clump shot.

PINHILL CLARET SYMPHONY continues to bloom in my side yard.

NORTHWINDS CURLEY JOE also in the side yard.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER and CHERRY CREAM PIE in the front yard.

Still very beautiful, Rita,

I especially like Dancing with Sandra.

I enjoy seeing the beautiful clumps since I now have very few still blooming. Better Late Than Never is Strikingly bright, and Vt Home companion is beautiful too.

Dancing With Sandra is a standout, but my favorite has to be Late Round. Is it a polychrome, and is the bloom as big as it appears in the photo?

Canna - I've been touring the many hand crafted shops here in tourist land [Shakespearean Theatre] for info on what's selling best and discovered that PAINTED ROCKS sell like hotcakes. The ones I saw for sale were NOT as beautifully done as yours (of course we all KNOW you are a truley gifted artist) and are selling for $35-$60+. Thanks so much for the Hellebore and Malea's photos - both brought me joy. Jean - Your wonderful Lily photos are helping with the wait for flowers - thanks! I know how you feel - I've been going through my photos & even going to flower shops to help keep the winter blah's away, too... My yellow Flag iris' are holding on in their pots and I send you a great big smile whenever I check on 'em. I searched the web for info on epiphyllium's - all I find are photos of the exquisite flowers but I'd love to know what the plant itself looks like - do any of you have photos of yours? Hi everybody.. Canna, you can imagine my excitement the other day when I was at Big Lots and I saw "your" feeder. I felt like I struck gold! You know how Big Lots is, one day it's there, the next day it's gone. I was just hoping that you hadn't gone and got a new one yet. I am so happy to have been able to do a *nice* thing for you!! You deserve it!! Oh, and of course I got one for my birds too!! Well, I think I did a NICE thing early this morning for my DH. He was so excited the other day 'cause he "traded" a few beverages with Canna and her DH, Doug. He enjoyed it so much, and starting poking around on the web. Well wouldn't ya' know it......he found a beer trading website. He wanted to trade soooo bad, but of course he's a "newbie" and no one would give him a chance. I was starting to feel sad for him. I kept encouraging him, and finally a nice fella in Colorado offered a trade. DH was thrilled, and came looking to me for help packing and shipping. Well, I "taught" him how to pack everything nicely, and had him even add a note. He was so proud of his 1st trade. And to be extra nice, I told him I would drop it off and pay for the shipping. All $17.50 of it!!! It was quite a heavy box. I also tried to do something nice for Anita today, but it backfired on me. I was out and about and I saw some Iris rhizomes that were so gorgeous. I immediately thought of Anita a picked up a couple. Came home and checked her "garden" page.....yep, she's got it already! Darn! Oh well, It's the thought that counts! I'm sure I can find a nice spot for them here somewhere......... Hi Becky Glad you are feeling good. That will be so nice to have your schooling finished. May will be here before you know it! Joey, pics?? We're waiting...... Is is possible to be the Martha type AND the Maxine type??? Actually, I think I always try to start out "Martha" and end up "Maxine". That's okay though. Marea, you get yourself into so many neat jobs. And then to be called "Sweetheart"! Perfect! It sounds very interesting. Just don't get bit, lol. Well, I better go cook something. Often the reason petals and sepals are splotchy is that the flower starts to open the night before and dew causes the color to run. Red and purple pigments are antho-cyanins which are water soluble. Yellows and oranges are carotenes which are not water soluble. I have a double, Night at the Prom, which starts to open in the evening and is all splotchy the next morning. It will never make it to a show unless I cut it and bring it inside the night before.

Thanks so much, everybody! Usually bed shots do not look as nice as in real life but this one turned out ok I think :) Laura they are leaning towards the sun lol I have a rather shady yard.. Avedon, Lullaby Baby is an oldie but goodie, almost always tops the bud queen list here :) Hope it does well for you! Janet Benz is pretty and opens well and has lots of flowers but very top budded, especially when it starts blooming it's hard to livehead without breaking the buds. Sherry, Two Sues is great, so glad I got it! Debra and Lilykate, glad you liked the combo of RS and YT :)

Chris, it is a big glowing flower. I am never sure what's a polychrome but it does stand out in the garden.

Kay, DANCING WITH SANDRA is a standout in my late blooming garden. It was a standout last year too so this is really a great daylily.

Jean, it looks like a lot of daylilies blooming when I show the pictures but compaired to all the daylilies that I actually have here, it is not as much as I would like. But I have blooms to look at and that is the main thing.

I did buy Melanie Mason's Longlesson Liberty Belle on the auction.

I like them all and nice to see all the blooms in one area. I need to work on moving the ML, L's to one area.

Julia- If the lates are grouped in one area they have a lot more impact. At least thats what I think.

Kay- You gotta watch that Lily Auction. I know you love it and so do I but it is too easy to buy on there even when there is no room.

I've been going up and down and up and down just taking in all your lovely flowers. The garden shots are great, since there is so much green in addition to the flower colors. Those of us in the no-rain zones are pretty tired of burned out brown. I do love all of them but I'll just mention Dancing With Sandra, Late Round, and Pinhill Claret Symphony. Hope there are still more late bloomers to come. I'll be watching. Avedon

Sure looks pretty still. Lots of great looking blooms, but Dancing with Sandra, Hard Times & Home Companion are my favorites.

Avedon, there are a lot of shrubs all around the edges of the backyard area so it makes it look very green. Then there is the big self seeded sunflower growing kind of in the middle of everything. I hope I will have blooms to keep posting but I am begining to wonder how long it can keep lasting.

Nancy, This late in the season I really appreciate the ones that are still blooming.

Ellie, Thanks. I have that Three Amigos collection from Gary of Northwinds Larry, Curley Joe and Moe. Those first two bloom regular season but CURLY JOE blooms late. Honestly it is the only one of the three that does much in my garden.
