Mysteriously Added Advertising Links To Our Posts?!?
Comments (60)bigdoglover, I had previously compared the two profiles and there was nothing similar between the two. ----- yourself I live in: United States My birthday is on March 2. First registered on November 15, 2005. --------- I'm glad the programming is gone. I had posted something yesterday, and the green linky was in it and I freaked out. I thought GW would blame me that *I* put the linky in the post. I thought some virus had invaded my computer and all my posts had links in them sending people to porn sites or mortgage refinancing places. I do know that a lot of blogs have that system in them to make money, but I had never seen it done on a mainstream site before....See MoreDoes anyone else feel like GW just got 'side lined' into Houzz?
Comments (40)I have always loved Houzz and used their pictures as inspiration for my kitchen reno, however, it was GW that helped me pull it all together. I got actual sources, advice, support and, dare I say it, "love" from GW. A totally different thing from what I've used Houzz for. This merger doesn't make sense to me, unless Houzz was somehow worried about the power GWers had on large purchasing decisions. If you like the GW enough to buy it; then let it be. It wasn't broken. Thanks for the opportunity to say my piece....See MoreOff topic/What has Houzz done?
Comments (22)Hi Gill, sorry to see you're having problems too. Since the first time I had the problem, I have had it happen again 1 more time, although it went back to normal later that day. I always open the forum from a bookmark on my iPad. The second time it happened I had cleared my history/website data in the settings app. ( Settings/safari/clear history and website data) then when I went back to open the forum from my bookmark it had changed to the other weird page. Clearing the history/website data should not have changed the way my page looked, as this is something I have always done. But for whatever reason, this seemed to be what caused it the second time. It sounds to me, like some sort of issue that is affecting some iPad users that are using houzz. Maybe an incompatible issue arising from something houzz has updated in their running system. (I have not updated or changed my running system on my iPad, so I can't see that as an issue.) Hopefully you will find a work around with your iPad to fix this...or maybe it will fix itself after a couple of days. Good luck Gill, and please let us know how you go. :)...See MoreDoes anyone know the "lurk ratio" for GW/Houzz?
Comments (32)I signed up for that site, then got busy and put it on the back burner, but browsed topics once every couple of weeks or so. Last time I tried to sign in, a message said I needed to get moderator permission to sign in to my own account. I have gone years on other sites without signing in and I could still sign in anytime I wanted. One site I hadn't visited for 10 years and my sign in worked fine. Very odd policies there....See Morezorroslw1
