Dining Room Light - I used to hate it, now not sure!
Comments (9)You are all right! The light has to go. pbrisjar - "one straight bar thing" That's it! That is what is wrong with this light, keeps it from being "okay". We are frugal people, we don't "change things out". So I live with what I've got until I can replace it with something I love that I will have forever. I don't buy much new, I prefer things with a history. Well, I found 2 great old lights for my kitchen on ebay, and will start my search there. We spent a fortune (to us) on the kitchen. But you know when you spruce an area up, the adjoining rooms look shabby?? Maybe I'm lucky that our house is rather small! Thanks...See MoreHelp me with my rectangle living room/dining room combo!
Comments (34)Thank you all for your suggestions! @Enduring I definitely can push the TV back on the stand. I don't think I have enough room to allow the back of the sofa to be a walk way. @Immcnitt I like the idea of a console table. I'll see about playing around with the layout over the next few days. I agree with the chair in the corner, it is a bit odd. I do think the layout is TOO open now and makes the table look far to small. Hmm. @Jamie Our ceilings are too high, would the new lighting need to be shorter? @Jamie I would love a new rug in the living room for sure. I hadn't thought about a rug in the dining room, maybe that would make that space feel so open now....See MoreLiving Room/Dining Room Combo - design help!
Comments (1)Cute place, i see the challenge, but I am really against a sectional in this space let alone for guest to have to sit next to each other it creates a weird dynamic. I hope you are not planning to put the tv over the fireplace that would also be a neck breaker. I see the couch on the side the two red chairs. the tv on the wall with the lockers and 2 chairs to the dining room side....See MoreI Hate My Dining Room
Comments (24)I guess I am the only one that thinks your art is too big for that wall. After you paint the vent the same color as the wall, it might look okay, but I think three smaller pictures would look better. Do I see a leaf or two in your table? Making the table smaller would be much better with two chairs on each side and one chair on each end. As you have it now, there is not room for end chairs. I like your room, just looks a little full to me....See MoreJane
