I tell you my experience. Certain seedlings like Tomatoes can be buried deep and they respond by producing more roots. Others do not. I have no idea why my cantaloupe is so leggy add to that the squash. I tried to bury them like tomatoes but the stem rotted and the plants died. I did this experience I went to the dollar store and bought plastic cups 22 ounces each narrow and long, 3 for $1. With the drill I made holes in the button for drainage and transplanted the leggy cantaloupe and squash in it no burying or nothing. They are growing in the cups very goods most of them on the fifth leaf. I go to the nursery store and feel bad how do they get their plants to grow that good and I am not.

why is it that most houses i see has bushes and trees planted right beside the house the person who plants them should know their gonna spread out and get taller plus the roots can crack the flooring in the house like it started to do in my house from who ever planted these tulip trees very close to the house and silver maples. like on milkyj picture who ever planted those i guess yews are to close to their house they could top half of those and in a year or 2 it should start coming back with new growth. on my 2 female yew bushes they kept spreading out wide and was growing taller so i trimmed around them then cut half off and had alot to burn the fresh green needles pop when you burn them and makes alot of white smoke.

Good news and bad news. The good - - My Meyer lemon is bursting its bud in new growth. The bad - - None of the buds are flower buds. These two Meyers are the only citrus trees of mine that are of breeding age. The small Meyer lemon is behind the better an I am unable to pick it out. Steve

Thanks for the reply. I kept on trying with different approaches, but none of my attempts had lead to rooting. With regards to medium, I tried different mixes of vermiculite, perlite and potting soil. Tried two different kinds of rooting hormones. Tried different lengths of cuttings. (What length do you use?) Tried to remove some of the leaves. Tried with and without bottom heat and different levels of natural sunlight - I even tried artificial plant lighting! What happens is that the cuttings quickly drop most of the leafs and slowly turns brown from the bottom. I keep the cuttings in a humid box. As you perhaps can tell - I'm terribly frustrated. However, just as stubbarn. So, could you perhaps post a picture of your setup? Maybe that'll inspire me towards a succesfull process. Best regards, A
