Amazon add-on items and prime pantry.

Is it just me or do many items seem to be one or the other these days? There are a few things I couldn't find locally and I figured I'd order on Amazon and they're add-on items so I have to spend $25 in order to get them. I figured I'd just eat the shipping but it won't even allow me to purchase them item unless it's an "add-on". Doesn't seem to matter that it's in stock. This has been happening more lately. I don't really understand the point of prime pantry. Why am I paying for Amazon Prime if a lot of items aren't going to qualify? I do enjoy the fast shipping and will be sad if that changes.

I think I'm more frustrated that Amazon won't send out the add-on item even thought I was willing to pay the shipping. Guess I'll have to order it elsewhere!

Have you noticed this?
