Console table choices
Comments (9)My rule of thumb when I decorated from nothing was to choose one wood tone for furniture (the wood I chose contrasted with the existing wood floor), one metal, and two colors for upholstery paint. (I chose dark brown bordering on black, chrome, a yellowish green, and robin's egg blue.) Since I wanted to open up the space, I chose glass tops for a couple tables. Since then I've acquired some pieces that strayed a bit from that plan, but I think it was a good starting place and still looks cohesive. As I said, it was just a rule-of-thumb so that I wouldn't be all over the place in my choices, not a hard-and-fast decorating rule....See MoreCountry Reclaimed Solid Wood Farmhouse Console Table

Comments (13)This side of couch: Consider how a lamp would help and you won’t be limited to a tall/narrow table (which won’t look good) or with something too bulky that will be in the way. See below how ”lower” can work when balanced with a tall lamp. With your couch’s style, you need to be considering visual weight and balance. It would really help to see both sides from farther back. Other side of couch: Here is a solid wood table that is substantial, really lovely and 30” high, so could work (and almost 50% off). Comments (9)Fun! It looks like the rug helps to neutralize the wood in your LR a bit. Out of the ones you posted, I like the darkest one the best. UO has a couple of pieces that might work for you too. This one looks like it would coordinate with your coffee table. White would coordinate with all your pieces, but this one has open storage--not sure if you're ok with open. Do you need side tables on each end? I could see a side table on one end and a floor lamp on the other. Add a plant in your planter, and it will be a really nice space! Here's a stone side table. How high is your sofa arm? You'll want the table to be about that height so it's an easy reach. Every room needs a touch of black. Here's one with good texture and you can store things inside it....See MoreOlga Rybochkina
