Choko Nishiki
Comments (10)That hosta is also called 'On Stage'. That is part of its "act" to change colors. Here is what the library database says: ******************************************** H. montana 'On Stage' = H. 'Cho Ko Nishiki' - Japan 14" tall. Part Sun to Light Shade. Yellow primary leaf color with a two tone green margin streaking to the center. Leaves 8 x 5. Purple flowers. A large montana hybrid with yellow leaf, irregular green margins. This is one of the most talked about hostas in any garden. The pointed, deeply veined leaves are green with a multi-tone gold center. It emerges very late in spring with a bright gold center that changes later to white, then to a light/dark green contrast late in the season. When planted in morning sun, it holds its color better through the summer. The 3' wide clumps are topped with light lavender flowers in early summer on 48" scapes. Yellow leaves with irregular green margins, a rapid grower; lavender flowers. The reversed form of montana 'Aureo-marginata'. Leaves are yellow with irregular two-tone green margins. One of the most beautiful new Hostas we have seen and certainly one of our favorites. Lavender flowers. ************************************** -Babka...See MoreAnyone attract angry yellowjackets when they sweat?

Comments (9)"Many manufacturers will require a heat shield between a range and cabinets or ovens and cabinets." Residential kitchen equipment is zero clearance to the sides and back. The sides and back can be directly against flammable surfaces without any fire hazard. This is one of the problems that show up when commercial equipment is used in a residential setting. Most commercial gear is NOT zero clearance, and does not even have to follow rules about oven door temperatures. In a commercial kitchen you are expected to know the doors (and even the door handles if the equipment has been on all day) are hot enough to burn. Insulation only slows the movement of heat, it does not stop it. Turn the oven on high enough for long enough and the cabinets will get warm. Run a self clean cycle and they will get warm even quicker....See Moredoes this happen to anyone else
Comments (11)Arthritis! I usually cut my own hair and keep it short. In the last few years the fingers on my left hand will suddenly cramp up and close as I'm trying to hold a section of hair to trim it. Drives me bonkers! I put the scissors down and patiently pull each finger back to its normal position...straight...and massage it until it calms down. Works like a charm although an annoying loss of time. The more flexible/maluable one can keep those tendons...the better. Massaging does a whole lot more than medications...IMO. Not carpel tunnel. There's an easy test for that. Hold your hand palm side up...as though you're looking into the palm. Using a finger from your other hand...draw it lightly from the center of the up turned palm to the wrist area. If the fingers on your up turned palm hand curl up as you draw your finger toward your wrist...you're a carpel tunnel candidate. See your doctor....See More- 9 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
