Comments (13)Those blue panels are awesome color get them with grommets remove the sheers and those wall sconces have to go. Add a roman shade in the same drape fabric to the small window. Get a coffee table in a shape that serves all the seting and in glass add a arc light behind the sectional and remove the very traditional lamp maybe one with brass shades since I see some gold colored piece in the bottom right corner....See MoreHelp with making my living room work Please!
Comments (7)1. The answer to your question regarding the dining table depends upon where the kitchen is located. If the kitchen is behind the double doors, then the dining area needs to stay where it is. 2. Should you keep the TV over the fireplace or move it to the area to the right? I am concerned about the possibility of damaging the TV by too much exposure to heat. Is that a functioning fireplace? Does heat from the fireplace affect the TV? Is that an air register above the TV? 3. Should you offset the sofa from the wall and make a passage behind it? I don’t know. What are your measurements? 4. Should you remove the furniture and go all minimalist? I don’t know. How good are your knees and back? Going all minimalist could be hard on both. 5. What is your budget for new furniture? 6. How many people live in the home? How many guests do you need to plan for, after the pandemic?...See MoreLiving room make over
Comments (13)The reason I am asking about that area on windowed wall is because it may be one option for tv. I would not take the whole blue wall for a tv. I personally would not do it. I would also not design the space for anyone else that way, either. Taking that whole wall for a tv makes no sense to me, logically. I also look at spaces from an Eastern Feng Shui perspective - so I would not float the sofa when there is a viable wall where the sofa can be anchored - and I would not put the tv in (what is termed in Feng Shui as) the ‘Command Position’ in a space. And I believe - in your space - that blue wall would be the Command Position placement for the sofa. So I can’t help you with the floating the sofa and taking the whole blue wall for the tv idea. But there are lots of folks here who will be happy to help you do that....See MoreLiving room make over help!!
Comments (7)Your fireplace would be fine with a large piece of art covering the wood planks. Or remove the bricks above the vertical design and place a simple mantle on the fireplace with drywall above. I'd keep your half wall. I don't see rails or glass improving that in any way. Your front door is beautiful. I'd try to find one type of flooring for your entry and carpet so you have better flow. Why not continue the hardwood you have? I'd put your budget into updating your lighting....See MoreJ D
