I am considering a frameless shower door. The problem is that my shower pan is cast iron (eliminating the possibility of top/bottom hinges) and also, there is no stud behind the wall where the hinges would be installed. I have had numerous glass people tell me that the door only weighs only 80 lbs. and that the hinges would be anchored into the Wonderboard with the "butterfly" anchors. They have done this hundreds of times and there is never a problem. I am still concerned that the stress of the door will cause cracks in the grout seams on the wall at a minimum and a total disaster at the other end of the spectrum. Advice???

Newport Brass makes several models of wall mount tub fillers. This one is 8GPM, which is plenty, as far as I am concerned: Tub Filler I have a similar Newport Brass wall mount that puts out less volume, but is still adequate. Just be aware that, if the spout does not extend far enough into the tub that the water stream hits the bottom, you may get splashback onto the nearby bathroom wall with a spout that is only far enough over the tub edge that the stream hits the upper area of the inner wall of the tub. This is especially true for a high volume valve.

Towel bar attached through glass = 1/2 inch. Be very diligent about proper structural framing on the walls on which the hinges attach, people tend to use any "bar / handle" (even on glass doors) as a grab bar.

Talked to my tile installer and he was able to provide this to me. This is a residential steam shower and not a continuous use shower (which is what you need the DS for). See below for KERDI info. I’m a structural engineer and ran a calculation on a 10.5 ft 1/2” panel and it worked fine. The 3/8” was not working - BUT we were very conservative with our assumption (assumed spanned full height and will actually be supported on 4 sides). Looking for others who have done something this tall...trying to avoid a much deeper structural analysis to prove it will work and get installed feed-back. What did you use? Thanks!
