which type of neighborhood would you choose/what DID you choose?
Comments (16)Either B or C...we're not the cheapest house in the neighborhood but there are some that are significantly larger/more extravagant/ pricier than ours. The neighborhood began development about 20 years ago. The original builder is completing the development. We actually chose the neighborhood before we decided to build. We chose it for the school system (best in the city), location (very close commute to work, shopping, highway, etc), and the overall feel. When we walked around while shopping for houses, other people stopped us to introduce themselves and tell us how much they liked their house, neighborhood, and the builder. We also ran into about 7 different acquaintances that all lived there! We looked at another development that is newer but the houses all backed up to each other so the backyards were not private. That was a deal breaker for us. We couldn't find a house in our price range to buy in our chosen neighborhood, so we bought the last lot and are currently builder. So far, relatively smooth sailing....See MoreHELP!! What paint color would you choose?
Comments (14)Sorry, Ethan, I deleted all those photos out of my computer when I finished, and right now it looks like Jake is MIA. I did do a darker avocado, though. Green balances orange well. Orange also looks great with ivory. I love orange too, but prefer it as an accent color. That sofa is a huge block of orange. However, I've seen so many beautiful photos of designer rooms I'm convinced that a good designer could come along and make that sofa look fabulous....See MoreWhat paint colour would you choose with this bedding?
Comments (33)Thank you for so many replies, and I apologize for not checking back all weekend. I will try to respond to as many questions as I can. Her room right now is painted a pale yellow, which I thought would look nice when I bought the bedding (which is Amy Butler "Sari Bloom", purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond). It turns out that the yellow really doesn't go with the bedding at all. It makes everything look very choppy. Her headboard is the same colour as the picture shown, although it is a bookshelf style headboard, not upholstered. She likes the navy blue mock up the best, but she acknowledges that the light pink is very pretty. I'm definitely leaning heavily towards the light pink. I think we'll probably paint the room the light pink colour and have her live with it for a little. After that, if she still feels like she wants the navy, we'll paint the accent wall and leave the other walls light pink. In this case I would probably put light pink curtains on the window on the accent wall to soften the navy a bit and to tie in the other walls. Sound like a good plan?...See MoreWhat paint color would you choose? My new home has warm tones.
Comments (18)If you're planning on adding curtains or other textiles, choose those before your wall colour. Paint can be matched to anything and that's why it's recommended it be chosen last when doing a room....See Moregrapefruit1_ar
