Maybe a medium taupe color would work well.

Do you love the color of the sofa and want to enhance it? If so, try a blue. Not a big bold blue, but a soft gray-blue, maybe. Or depending on your style, even a pale aqua blue could work. It will make the sofa (oh, I hate this word) "pop" and look nice w/ the dark wood furniture, too.

Do you have a lot of natural light in the room? If you do, I think I might recommend a deep brown. Are you up for some drama?

Maybe stick to colors in the same sector on the color wheel instead of going to other color options. Espresso, orange, tans, creams, beiges, colors in the floor.

I agree with a warm brown or tan. SW Nomadic Desert, Latte, Compatible Cream, Bagel e.g. Something that would blend with the flooring.

I too think a nice brown or rich tan would be lovely! I also think a really nice green could work, and I would anchor it with a cool rug like one from Company C!

The couch is already so colorful, I'd just go with the same cream as your pillows to help tone it down just a bit.

how about you switch out the silver/grayish looking pillow for one with some brown in it and do the walls a rich camel color. It will bring everything together. I suggest Sherwin Williams Dromedary Camel(SW 7694).

Another option would be to slipcover the sofa. Or sell it on CL and find one you like better (possibly also on CL).

How about inserting the avocado green color in the last pic behind the orange couch to see what that looks like? I'm curious as I think it might look pretty cool together. Your thoughts?

(P.S...I'm one of the few who happens to like orange! LOL)

I vote for #3 out of Oceanna's mock ups. The couch is so strong and striking that I believe you need a softer color for the room.

Sorry, Ethan, I deleted all those photos out of my computer when I finished, and right now it looks like Jake is MIA. I did do a darker avocado, though. Green balances orange well. Orange also looks great with ivory.

I love orange too, but prefer it as an accent color. That sofa is a huge block of orange. However, I've seen so many beautiful photos of designer rooms I'm convinced that a good designer could come along and make that sofa look fabulous.
