Open tops on pour bottles

I have a matching pair of white bottles with pour tops, for olive oil and vinegar, that I keep on a tray near my stove. I wasn't very concerned about the open spouts (no hinged lid) until tonight, when I saw fruit flies crawling around the top of the vinegar spout. Not sure if any went in for a swim! It was somewhat of a duh moment for me, since I know vinegar makes a great fruit fly trap.

Does anyone use a bottle with a hinged lid successfully? I know I can just pour from the original bottle, but the spout makes it easier to pour exactly what I need.
