Anti virus for phones or tablets?
Comments (3)Yes it certainly does not hurt and they don't use much battery power and have some added benefits some will help you find your phone if lost or stolen. The top 2 I recommend are Lookout security and AVAST both have free versions. They can both be found in the app stores. I would read the attributes of both and decide which you prefer. I have used both, I currently have AVAST on my tablet but have lookout on other devices....See MoreComputer help via phone
Comments (8)Many, many moons ago I allowed this method. I had a new desk top and it wasn't responding the way it should. I allowed the private builder to have access and he repaired the problem. Yes. It is safe if you know the reliability/honesty of the person you're allowing access to your system. It's often done by system builders [MS or HP] when nothing else will work. I've also allowed my ISP to repair damage they caused via this method when I first accessed the internet years ago. Do I recommend it? Sure. As long as you feel comfortable with the person you're giving the access to. It alleviates a lot of hassle/problems of moving a system. If you have a personal recommendation...that's even better. You might have to give the person your password[s] to enter your system...and after the repair is completed...I've always changed passwords...whether I had to give them out or not. It's just a private precaution but one I strongly recommend it....See MoreQuestion about the Cloud
Comments (8)I honestly don't know what I'm talking about here, haha. Daughter has an iphone, DH got me one for Christmas and now he has one. I turned off all programs/apps etc. that were connected to the cloud. It's only stuff from my phone, at least that I know of. I changed my phone plan with Verizon to the XL plan. 12 gigs of data for the price of 10. We already had 10. What I didn't notice until after I did the switch is we went from 25 GB to 5 GB cloud storage. DH is away on a hunting trip and was trying to take pics and send them and he can't. It said he was out of storage. He deleted a bunch of pics and videos but he still can send a pic to me. I thought maybe it had something to do with our cloud. I just don't know how to access it to see what all is stored there. On my phone when I go to settings, iCloud then storage I get a message that says "iCloud storage details are currently unavailable. Try again later." Has been like that for days....See MoreStory of a homeless man and an injured cockatiel
Comments (12)Pea, I had same questions regarding the cell phone service available to a homeless when reading the story, but your posting surely opened my eyes. Thank you. Salti, I did not sense any nastiness from Pea's postings regarding homeless subject. The distance between homeowner and homeless is alarmingly short than most of us realized. I believe only one medical needs could put a lot of people cross that line. 6 months ago, DH had a procedure and only spent one night at the hospital. The hospital bill was more than $50k. We are still receiving bills from other services for the same illness. Imagine if we do not have employee insurance provided by big company, imagine if we are not capable of paying for the deductibles. This procedure will put DH in 'pre-existing condition' group, not sure how the insurance situation would be according to Dump healthcare plan, and not sure how much it would impact our financial well being in the future. Scary!...See More- 9 years ago
