Drawer Pull Size...what length pulls on doors and drawers?
Comments (10)I will second what pussuskattus suggested...although it is definitely more work/time, we found that it was very worthwhile to mock up the drawers and try out our handles that way. We ordered various sample sizes of our handles and DH cut some scrap wood planks in the lengths of our drawers. We then just placed the handles on each board and it was VERY quick and easy to determine which size to go with. It was surprising what we found...definitely some different outcomes than what we had thought before mocking up. There would be no need to cut wood, though...could easily just use posterboard or scrap cardboard from a shipping box. And the ribbon idea would be easy, too. Would save the step of buying the pulls if you don't know for sure yet what you want. Good idea for next time! Good luck with your search on the vintage pulls!...See MoreStupid question? Can RH bistro pulls be put vertically on doors?
Comments (5)I had to look up the pulls to see which specific ones they were but I don't think they'd look odd as long as they're hung in a way that makes sense for which way the doors swing etc. By the way not a stupid question at all! I'm finding myself asking lots of questions (stupidish and otherwise) of anyone who will listen as im planning my kitchen update but sometimes I just need to ask these things out loud and get some validation....See MoreDumb question about pull-out trash cans!!
Comments (12)I considered moving the trash to a different cabinet that is smaller, but I really want to keep it near the sink. (although it is currently located under my cooktop and I actually really like it there!) And I can't deduct 3" from that cabinet and add it to another because of where it's located (between supersusan corner cabinet and sink cabinet) The space will be completely divided by a wood partition from top to bottom, front to back, so I hope that garbage doesn't get in there!! However, I really only wanted to keep serving trays in there, which I don't use all that often and would probably rinse off before use anyway. Badgergal, that's exactly what I was thinking!! Was it difficult to get the trash hardware placed on the door exactly where it needed to be so that the door would fit into place correctly? That's my concern...especially since the doors are inset. I'll probably leave this for my contractor but I kind of need a plan in place to know if I should order an unattached door for that cabinet (to attach to garbage) or a regular door that opens to the side....See MoreYet another question re: cabinet pulls
Comments (4)Refrigerator/Freezer: what is the length (height?) of each door? I would probably scale them to the door if there's a big difference in size otherwise, probably the same. But, I recommend getting a couple in each size and holding them up to the drawers (and refrigerator & freezer) to see how they look. Don't buy all of them until you're sure what you want. You can use the always fashionable blue pulls until you've decided (blue painter's tape)! HTH!...See Morecrcollins1_gw
