Another "Brown Spots In My Lawn" post! (with pictures)

Hello all,

It's another "Brown Spots In My Lawn" post. I have read all or most of the posts on this forum relating to this problem, but would still like some help narrowing down what this is and what to do about it.

I think I had similar spots to these last year, but they eventually went away or filled back in with grass.

This year, it is taking over the lawn. It seems to be spreading quickly, also.

This does not look like mold. The grass turns brown and then seems to die off right down to the roots.

We do have dogs that make burn spots, but this is not the case here.

Water routine:
I water when I think it needs it. If I see a little stress in the lawn, I will sprinkle deeply at night with it finishing by dawn so it can dry.
Watering during the day does not work so well here because most of it blows away.

Fertilizing routine:
Fertilizing and emergent control, etc is done by a local company that has served me well for eight years with no previous issues.

Original Seed mix:
59.56% Kenblue Kentucky Bluegrass
28.99% Cruiser Perennial Ryegrass
9.79% Boreal Creeping Red Fescue
0.45% Crop Seed
1.21% Inert Matter
0.00% Weed Seed

Location:
Grand Rapids, Michigan USA

Any help is appreciated. I will be bringing samples to my local Cooperative Extension, but hoping to get suggestions in the meantime.

Thanks for reading!
