The first is a Dracaena fragrans AKA corn plant. The second is Epipremnum AKA Pothos. The third looks like a Philodendron of some kind, there are hundreds. Commonly discussed plants here. Why in the world would anyone discard these? The D. marginata not pictured - you could just cut off whatever top part(s) you like and it should root that way. Unless it's gotten too cold, no reason to expect it to not do well especially if it looks as good as these plants. You can also propagate the top(s) of the corn plant if you want to. One or two new tops should appear at the cut on the mama, give the severed top a pot big enough pot to hold it up, or in the pot with the mama. I would repot that when convenient. Eggshells belong in the compost first, IMO. Would be interesting to know what deficiency or malady they were intended to battle... there's some teeth to some of these kinds of things, some are just old wives' tales... This tree's a mostly-shade plant in summer but may need some direct light inside for winter. I'm a huge fan of growing vines UP instead of down if there's a reason to (juvenile/mature leaf forms is one that applies to the Pothos) and don't know what the goal of the tomato cage support was, but that could have had something to do with it. You can keep supporting it, or let it dangle. Not picky about sun, but can't handle mid-day sun in the summer. Famous for surviving low light but doesn't grow as quickly that way. Very easy to propagate. Philo, similar to Pothos, although some Philos will make really long, stringy aerial roots (which may be possible also for Pothos but not something I've seen.) New leaves are often a different color initially. Probably guttates. Direct sun may burn it in the summer.

I apologize in advance because I'm sure this is a duplicate post, I've searched the forum, but can't find exactly what I'm looking for, so with that said, here goes. I just moved into my first home two weeks ago, the previous owners did an exceptional job on the yard and garden, in my opinion. I have two Boxers and despite my best efforts they have both(we have a male and a female) urinated on the lawn before I could get them to their dog run, where they are supposed to go. Anyway, I live in Utah, and to be totally honest, I'm not sure what type of grass I have, but the spots where the dogs urinated is totally dead. Is there any hope, what can I do? The area right where they urinated is yellow and in some places, there is a dark green ring outside of that where the lawn looks to actually be growing stronger, I don't get it. Is there a fertilizer or a treatment of some kind I can do to save or regrow these areas? Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

You are probably talking about Elatior (hiemalis/rieger) begonias. Most of these are treated as seasonal plants - buy them in bloom and when they start going downhill, throw them away. I'm sure you can keep them for more than one season but the care may be more than it is worth. Good light, regular watering and fertilizing, removal of old leaves, etc should keep it going for longer than a few months. The common insects that damages apples are apple maggot flies, coddling moths and oriental fruit moths. Pears are damaged mostly by CM and OFM, too. They attack fruit early and often, meaning CM has at least two generations and OF M has up to 5 generatons. They cause early fruit drops and make a mess. They can damage ALL of your fruit if not spray. You need to spray. For this year, insecticide is quick and effective. Try triazicide Once and Done by Spectracide. Spray soon after petal fall. Read label. You can spray a few more time at 10-14 days interval depending on how much insect pressure you have and how heavy it rains. Pick up all dropded fruit. Throw them out with the trash. Do not compost. If you do, you extend their life cycle that way. If you cut up dropped fruit that have holes or ooze gums, you will see lavae inside. One time i collect dropped fruit in a bucket and forgot to empty the bucket for a few days. Lavae crawled around at the bottom of the buckets. Give me goose bumps. And thin a lot of fruit so the remaining fruit can size up. Thinning also improves fruit quality.
