Yeah my yard has recently broke out in this weed, it's everywhere. I heard once the real high heat comes in for a few weeks it will kill it off. I think Ortho Nutsedge will kill it too that I might be soon.

Thank you all. Identification even of trees is not my strong suit. Yeah, that part dries out especially fast. Notice it is strung out over a silver maple stump probably a clean foot from any good soil. Amazing how well the stuff grows. That spot is near the edge of the lawn and NEVER gets watered. If folks like Bermuda then I recommend it anyolace your neighbors will not mind. Stuff is impossible to keep out of the flower beds. Thank goodness for round-up

Looks like crabgrass to me. If you were seeding it this spring, you really needed a pre-emergent that is safe for seeding like Tenacity. Otherwise any barren areas will sprout crabgrass and outcompete any grass you've planted. The good news is that you can see grass sprouts and also that Tenacity can still be sprayed as it does have post-emergent control over crabgrass and a whole host of summer annuals.

Kinds other than readily identified, distinctive and already familiar grasses are recognized using fine details of foliage, flowers and seeds.
