Update! It's a pineapple! I'm so very pleased. Over the past week or so it's gone from purplish, to dark green, and yesterday I saw the bright yellow. Wandered over to look at it and could smell it... mmmmm! Noticed that it was beginning to fall off its stalk, so picked it this morning. I think I'll give it a day or two to completely ripen though. I've finally beaten the squirrels to something!

Tina, Those leaves look like a classic case of Cucumber mosaic virus. It's likely that those two Pineapple seedlings got the virus from where they were grown as seedlings, or they may have gotten the virus from the seeds (it's uncommon, but seed transmission does happen), which is why it's showing up in both of them but not affecting your other plants. They won't recover; they'll stay stunted, and probably won't ever bear fruit. You're best off yanking yours (and telling your sister to do the same) and replacing them with new seedlings or a sucker from your other tomato plants. CMV is aphid transmitted, so you don't want to keep the infected ones around for aphids to pick it up and infect your other plants. Maybe you can give Pineapple a try again next year. My Yuzu tree also has fruit, but I have not counted how many. I also have a bottle of Yuzu juice that I have not yet opened. Yesterday I went to TJ's and bought two pineapple plants. I'm not sure how much sun to give them - the pineapple plantations I've seen were growing in full sun in the tropics, but when I put my other pineapple plant in full sun, the leaves seemed to get a bit burned, and so I put it in partial shade. The tag with the plant said "bright light" but also indicated that it could be grown indoors if you are not in zones 9-11. I put one of the new plants in full sun (see below) and the other one in partial shade, next to the other pineapple bromeliad. I will move the one in full sun if it starts to get burned. Lars
