Yesterday's hike - we saw whales breaching, waterfalls and ate our lunch overlooking the ocean. In spite of the very humid day we had a great hike.

10 years agoI think many of us wish we could go hiking with you, Casey! The Canadian Maritimes are one of the few places I'd like to visit. Maybe someday.
I'm not well-traveled (far from it), but I find photo ops on the property from time to time.
10 years agolast modified: 10 years agoFlower reflection in a water drop. I joined a photo club, my 1st trip w/ them was yesterday. We went to The Mesa Demonstration Gardens xeriscaping exhibit. They "all" borrowed my spray bottle to try this. :0) It was good fun! SOOC

Comments (8)The day before yesterday the Tour de France went near or through the city of Lourdes in southern France. These pictures of the city are from the train as we went through several years ago. There is a Catholic shrine somewhere in the city that is believed to have healing powers. A week or so later, as we were flying out of nearby Pau, some people checking-in in front of us had all flown in that morning, had each traveled to Lourdes, filled a large plastic container with the "healing waters" and were flying out the same day. Comments (4)There used to be an adage, "corn should be knee high by the 4th of July." Farming methods have changed that. Better seed, nitrogen additives, etc. This corn is only a few days from being picked. The folks who have this sweet corn plot do 4 plantings of corn. They sell beginning at 3:00 p.m. and sometimes are still picking when I get there and I have to wait. Nicole, how fun to be in a photo class. I love your picture. I have liked taking them in the past because they do get you out and taking lots of pictures. Having assignments always helped me progress.
Susan, your picture is gorgeous too, very striking and I agree with you about Casey's hikes and the pictures that result!!! I would love to go there too someday.
Mine is from a trip to Alaska about 12 years ago.
10 years agoFoggy morning out front. Agapanthus and Naked Ladies (Amaryllis belladonna) are in bloom. That is my neighbor's Chardonnay grapes.
