depending on the hosta plant you got the seeds from, some will be blue, some yellow, and mostly green. Inniswood (open polinated) that I have grown seed from gave many yellows opposed to green (and some blues). last year I crossed Northern Exposure (pollen) with Inniswood (pod parent) and still got many yellow (about 90%). Thanks for the tip. I looked it up and I'll post a link to the page on Johnny's Seeds for others to investigate. The (F1) indicator on their ad usually means it's a "treated" hybrid. I'm a bit of a purist, so I'll take another path. That doesn't mean someone else can't try them and if you do, please post your results on the 4m. What I'm trying is taking the seeds off the strawberries, drying them a bit and then propagating from them. I'll post my results, but that's down the road a bit of course. Very few hybrid plants reproduce faithfully from seed. They may look very similar to the parent hybrid but they wont be exactly similar. And many hybrids are sterile and do not produce ANY viable seed while most others will not come true to type, with varying degrees of reversion to the parent species. Exact or clonal reproduction must be done vegetatively.

Why was it hybridized? If, for example, it was hybridized for disease resistance you my not care if the disease is not a problem in your area. Also note that if it is an F1 hybrid one of every four plants should come back true, I think.
