I have never had a virus until I started prepping for W10. When I start downloading my software, I got something that locked up my toolbar, safesearch I think and wajam. I did a system restore, then a friend told me it was still in restore and told me how to get rid of it there. Later I picked up a virus with no name, it just had gen in the name with other stuff. It froze my Avast and my PC. I waited a few minutes and I was able to use IE. Downloaded Adware cleaner and that took care of the second one.

That's what I would do. Right-click the executable and pin it to either the taskbar or start.. . Another option might be to create shortcuts in the all-users start menu... C:\ProgramData\Microsort\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

I give up. I'm going to wheedle the money to take this machine to a repair shop. I fail to understand that if you think the user is the problem, PEBCAK, that you would bother to respond. There are too many problems for me to resolve from the Win10 uninstall. The uninstall was recommended by Microsoft Tech Support after he failed to help me fix Mail, Calendar, Cortana, People apps during a 2 1/2 Hour phone call. Since last Sept. I've been trying to get this machine to work as it should. I've spent many hours on MS site, looking for articles on other sites that address our problems. My husband and I have spent many hours searching and trying to resolve these problems. 5 months. The last thing we need is snarky comments, snotty opinions and in general, erroneous assumptions. This was always a place for us to come to ask for help. It's not any longer, and the pointless crap is a waste of time when we have spent so much of it trying to fix this ourselves. Many thanks to those of you who asked specific questions and gave good advice and shared your knowledge. You are truly a God send to those of us who need help.

Your browser doesn't necessarily show all files that were downloaded. Mine doesn't even though I select "All." Outside of your browser, go to the lower left corner of the screen. Click the icon that looks like 4 window panes. At the upper left corner of the screen that opens, click the 3 horizontal lines (sometimes called a hamburger). The word "Start" will be next to the 3 line. Further down, you should see a page with a dog-ear called "Documents." Click that. A folder will open. The path to the folder is in a box. It will be something like > This PC > Documents. To go to the parent directory, click "This PC." There are several folders in "This PC." Documents, Desktop, Downloads, Music, Pictures and Video are among the common ones. Click the Downloads folder. This should list everything most you've downloaded to the default directory. It is possible to specify where to put downloaded files either by default or on an ad hoc basis. If you've done that, file could be anywhere. I haven't had any problems downloading files on Window 10, but I have it configured to always ask me where to put the files. I don't know squat about Facebook, but I strongly suspect that there are links among users' files that are not at all clear to those users. I don't recognize a "Play" folder. Did you get a new PC or upgrade older one? If the former, many PC vendors put all sorts of bloat-ware on their PCs. I remove a lot of it, but you have to know what can be uninstalled safely and what can't.
