Solution for blue masking tape peeling off paint problem
Comments (2)Well....sorry to burst your bubble....but it IS the paint AND primer. More specifically: It's ANY paint and primers' issue! * Modern-day Primers and paints "skin over" quickly at the tape edge. This bond is stronger than the primer-to-paint/wall-bond....for many days. * Primers and paints curing TO THE WALL takes a while...meaning daaays. FULL CURE of a paint/primer film can be a month....or more. * For taping use, the paint "forms a tough skin" in minutes...BUT NOT TO THE WALL yet. * This "skin" will EASILY get pulled-into by tape with paint on it, because... >>> The paint and/or primer HASN'T EVEN REMOTELY DRIED/CURED to the wall yet....but it IS dried to itself somewhat. I purposely wait 'till the NEXT DAY, score the tape/paint edge with a sharp snap-knife, and pull the tape. LASER-STRAIGHT edge-lines are the result, with ZERO pulling into the paint film. I've been giving this advice to our clients for years, and no complaints yet. * .....and we sell LOTS of paint. * That 3M Blue is our best seller, and my fave too. (to the tune of several-hundred rolls/yr.) Faron...See MoreRemoving old tape...

From a Richelieu hardware distributor. Keywords / key numbers for web search are " Richelieu 318612170 OR 31861210 " 318612170 Inox Stainless plating on aluminum extrusion http://www.richelieu.com/produit/detail.php?no=318612170&fr=pgr 31861210 anodized finish aluminum extrusion http://www.richelieu.com/produit/detail.php?no=31861210&fr=rec (This one costs about half the price of the Inox one) You have to cut it to the length you want. If you cut it into tiny lengths your cost per handle is next to nothing in dollar terms. I cut strips to be as long as possible, the same length as the drawer front. -- I also got Klippig (at Ikea). Klippig is better than Strecket, in my opinion. It's easier to pull because the grip edge is larger and angled forward. 45 degrees or 30 degrees. With ridges underneath. In 2008 I spent a lot of time on the phone with a senior Ikea person telling him I wanted a handle like this. Nine months later Klippig came onto the market. Perhaps my input was helpful to the process. Here is a link that might be useful: Klippig has an angled front...See MoreHow do,I remove old laminate floors around kitchen cabinets
Comments (4)Agree. If they are installed on top of floating floor that is incorrect. And when you install the new floor any undercuts you need to do can be done with a jamb saw. They come electric and manual in the states and there HAS to be something similar in Canada. You shouldn't need to cut the toe kick, except perhaps at outside corners. You'll lay laminate up to the toe kick, keeping an expansion gap of course , and then cover expansion gap with quarter round or base shoe. Or pull off the toe kick and reinstall after new flooring laid. But get any cabinets that are on a floating floor reinstalled....See More- 10 years ago
