Succulent... jelly bean plant?
Comments (16)Rosemariero, I think you are correct. Google images look exactly like this plant. Good call from the folks who suggested full sun outside for the little guys. I cut the tops of the plants off and propagated them. They both now have a lovely new root system growing, and they aren't so leggy anymore! They look like they should. Here is the progress from your advice Thanks folks! My plant was salvaged....See MoreMy 'jelly-bean' sedum is turning black
Comments (10)Toni, Pug... thanks very much. Norma, you sure are an expert in the succulent world! Thanks very much. Back to the plant in the first photo: the plant enjoyed the same growing environment with the plant in the third photo - on the top shelf in my "greenhouse", i.e. they both enjoyed the same bright light, same watering. But the "stretched" one was planted in soil-less mix, and the other planted in a mix of potting soil+perlite. Then I brought the "stretched" one indoors for display at my east-facing windowsill, it being watered once weekly. Then three weeks ago, I decided to take it outside onto my east-facing porch and it started to look blacken... maybe not real black but very very dark brownish-green. Here's a pic of my humble collection, in the greenhouse. Here's a pic of the one I suspected to be the "baby" of the plant in the first photo, being kept outdoors. This one looks like that of Pug's in the 2nd photo above. Maybe I'm wrong?! I also found this rooting leaf of the plant (in the first photo) on my granite kitchen counter, among my AVs. It's incredible, isn't it? Thanks for looking at my photos. Xuan...See MoreSedum Hybrid "Burrito/Donkey Tail" leaves fell off
Comments (13)The label on the plastic cup it is in said: Donkey Tail "Burrito" sedum hybrid. Thanks for letting me know that it is really called something else! Lol, it was from Lowes in the garden center. It seems like they didn't take good care of it because a lot of the leaves were wrinkled and those are the ones that fell off the easiest in the storm. There are 3 or 4 stalks in the container, only 3 inches tall at the most. Two of the stalks are very bare! The base on both is exposed by a good inch at least since the leaves fell off! The tips still have a few leaf clusters. How do I make it look less unsightly??? Do I cut off the tips that still have clusters and plant them, hoping they'll take root? And the bases that still have little leaf clusters, if I trim the top/bare stalk from it...will it grow a new stalk with leaves on it?...See MoreWhere is Sedum 'Aurora',Pink Jelly Beans?
Comments (5)Cacti.com wont ship to Fla for some dumb reason. And I went to that other site before coming here. To buy one small plant with shipping is $18.50 for a 3in pot! I want the plant, but lets be reasonable, It isnt gold plated. I am hoping one of the people from Daves gardens will sell to me,I just tried to send a 2nd email to the 2nd person and the site says it is 'to much spam' 'try again in 24hrs'. What a site....See Moregarrett222
