Hale Navy Jack and Jill Bathroom
Comments (11)I like the white shelves. I think navy will look great on the walls. How about painting the walls and the back of the shelving unit navy and then decide if you want it all navy? If you do paint the unit, I would use a satin finish not matte which you should use on the walls. Good luck....See MoreJack and Jill Bathroom Update
Comments (14)If you really want to redo the whole area - and you have the budget - I think two separate bathrooms would be a much better use of the square footage. The current arrangement isn't terrible, but both vanity areas seem like sad, dark spaces and the one on the right has a lot of wasted space. Here are some options. I don't know if you're able to move/add windows. The first two options leave your existing window in place. The third and fourth option require moving the existing window. In all options I'm suggesting adding a new window for the second bathroom. Not sure if that is feasible. Option 3 is my favorite, if you can move/add windows....See MoreRenovation of tiny Jack-and-Jill kids' bathroom
Comments (37)Sheloves, unfortunately the master bath is pretty small too and we don't have room for a tub in there. We currently have a very narrow prison cell-like shower that we're trying to figure out how to work with.... definitely no room for a tub. There is a set of 3 large windows in the bedroom on the wall opposite the bathroom. We can't move the closet.... just not in the budget as it would requite redoing the hardwood floors, etc., which have just been recently refinished. The bedroom shown in the pictures is the largest of the kids bedrooms! The second floor is just not that large unfortunately.... we live in a city where they build up, not out. :-) If we had an unlimited budget I'd add a second floor extension but there is absolutely no way that can happen! Karen, I really like the layout you drew, but we can't move the toilet. We've asked them to make up some drawings pushing the bathroom out into the hallway, but not the closet, like what you have shown (without moving the toilet) but I think that option will be just as expensive AND we will still have a really narrow, cramped bathroom. I'll try to post some pics of current conditions!...See Moreplease help me re-architect this jack and jill bathroom
Comments (3)I have closets like that and they are completely wasted space. In your shoes I would 100% try to get two long reach in closets. The bathroom layout for that would be similar to the one 3 posted but turned sideways. You might not have enough width for that though. With 3's layout you would be able to fit a linen closet if you flip it vertically so the entrance is by the lower bedroom....See More- 10 years ago
