show me your soapstone counter with undermount cast iron sink?
Comments (6)I was all set to order the Rohl Allia. Went to the store and, while I was there, looked around at all the bath and kitchen displays. I got to the Kohler section and saw an interesting display. There was a large divided sink with a heavy SS frying pan in it. The frying pan had a sign challenging people to try to damage the sink with the pan. Not to miss such an opportunity, I picked up the pan and dropped it from a height of 6 inches into the sink. Nothing happened. So I then picked up the frying pan and tapped the edge of the sink. Again, no damage. Then I whacked the sink a half dozen times harder than I thought any accident could cause. No damage-not even a scratch. The pan just bounced off. I was amazed. So I asked the salesperson, who had just told me that fireclay was pretty durable, if it could take that sort of abuse. She just shook her head. So I ordered the Kohler Bakersfield sink instead....See MoreStay away from these counter tops
Comments (228)I would advise you avoid doing business with AZ tile and Dean Jessup specifically. We had a horrible experience with them. Don't expect them to act with integrity or stand behind their product. We used a fabricator that was a personal referral from him. When we had discoloration and fingerprints that wouldn't come off of our Della Terra quartz he informed me I must have "scarred" it by cleaning with a paper towel. ( I called him within an hour of the fabricator leaving). We paid beyond stone to buff it with a cleaner at their recommendation. It mostly resolved the issue although as a result of the buffing the gloss and sheen no longer match our perimeter counters. Best we can figure out the fabricator applied turtle wax or something similar to disguise striations around the sink cutout. Which is why fingerprints couldn't be cleaned off. We still have some smudges. Bottom line rather than try to help us resolve the issue he was hostile and accusatory. He said the fabricator (a friend of his apparently) said it was fine so we must have done something. Do business with them at your own risk....See Moreremoving a rust stain from a quartz countertop
Comments (45)It might not be the finish that is damaged. The Brillo may have left a cloudy layer. Use a good, non-abrasive cleaning product (even just gentle dish soap and clean water). Scrub hard (but with a non-abrasive towel or sponge). Rinse very well after - even dish soap residue will dry cloudy on the surface. Odds are this will fix the issue. Try baking soda and water as well if you need to. You can get a more aggressive cleaner (Caeserstone recommends Soft Scrub gel cleaner with bleach). Important though that you never use an abrasive sponge (not even the scratchy side of a plastic sponge). If that fails, you can try polishers such as Quartz Renew or Granite Gold Quartz Brite. They don't actually polish though, they just give a temporary shine. Only a true mechanical polish will repair it if it is actually damaged. It would be something best left to the professionals (you risk overheating when you polish mechanically, which would cause other issues)....See Morestained brand new white quartz countertops
Comments (15)i have been posting on another Houzz thread regarding my White Quartz. Installed 3 months ago. White Denali Quartz from AZ Tile. It gets pewter color little lines from ANYTHING metal (stainless pans) , belt rubbing when u lean , mixing bowls, anything with an alloy as the guy from AZ TILE just told me. This has happened since day one. My fabricator didnt really know what is was. Most coming off with joy/ Palmolive detergent and elbow grease or bar keepers friend. VERY ANNOYING. Some hasn’t come off and Ive been told to use Magic Eraser and scrubbing bubbles without bleach. I will try today. Counter top looks great, but it’s NOT the easy maintenance everyone said it’s suppose to be as I am constantly having to wipe off these little grey lines. Also caused a lot of little lines when my sweater that had some plastic little stud like balls on sleeves was resting on counter. then I had a feathery herringbone effect of little whispy grey lines. . First pict is counter after Scrubbing Bubbles (no bleach) & Magic Eraser 2nd pict is counter after sweater rubbing. 3rd pict is Our Newly Remodeled Kitchen 4th pic is sweater I was wearing that made marks. SO, it took 10 sec using Scrubbing Bubbles (without bleach) and magic erase and damp cloth. Voilla!!! No elbow grease needed. Finally, an answer !! I wonder if this would work on your coffee stains??? swaeter that caused little whispy grey lines when my arm was resting on counter back and forth using ipad...See Morequadesl
