Indoor seed starting in summer

In spring I have no problem. I don't have lights. Things go to the greenhouse early in life. But I had little paper cups of squash, brussels sprouts, cauliflower and tomatoes. I potted them up to solos today. While the squash is maybe sturdy enough to go outside, the bugs would get it. The others are fragile looking and I doubt they would survive the next two weeks of heat. Last year the moth visited my seedlings before they were transplanted. I covered the brassica with tulle and happilly ignored it, only to find the worms were UNDER the netting decimating my plants. I'm trying to figure out how to harden these off in this dreadful heat without exposing them to pests. Looking for suggestions.
