decorating with a floral sofa
Comments (24)Thank you to all who responded to my posted question. I love some of the ideas that you have presented. This is my living space, not a rental. I recently acquired the small chair and chaise. I tried to pull some of the colors off the sofa to try to make it work. Some things when ordered are unfortunately not its true color. Please keep the ideas coming. Also, the white rug under the small chair is temp until I get an area rug. Didn’t want the floor damaged if the chair was moved around. My budget is rather small. I’ll add or subtract pieces along the way to make adjustments if needed. I’d like to keep the sofa as is but will remove pillows and checkered throw....See MoreBeautiful style couch but ugly floral print
Comments (66)Thanks guys! I will be slowly changing the place around. I also have a roommate and our tastes clash quite a bit unfortunately. His style is monochromatic and nautical and I'm more bohemian/vintage. I've made the decision to move to a single apartment with darker flooring this summer so I'll make sure to use your ideas in the new place. For now I will just make small adjustments with pillows and rugs. Your ideas have been inspiring and I hope to make an awesome living room....See MoreUnique 80s Living Room Renovation Ideas: What do you think??
Comments (9)Hi thank you!!! A chandelier would look gorgeous, but I think the functionality of a fan wins out for us because with ceilings this high and a mountain climate, we need the fan to push the hot air down to the rest of the house in the winter. Is there such a thing as an attractive ceiling fan? (serious question!) I think we'll just put the little book case upstairs in the loft, which is desks and another book case anyway. So funny that y'all like the arches! We are so stuck on them. What do you think about squaring the one that goes to the staircase but keeping the others? It would sort of balance the visual impact of the other 4. Are you saying cover the beams with wood or just paint to match the room? or would you do another color? I have no design sense, but I see the potential too!...See MorePine walls, Floral Sofas..Dated? Ugly?...No Way
Comments (53)I still always bristle to hear rooms called 'grandma'.; using grandma as a pejorative...as far as the autumnal colors, the naturalness of such a palette is relaxing to me, and why I've used such warm colors in parts of my home. Including, in one room, pine paneling, floral curtains (once the new windows are in) and the warm, gentle, autumnal colors. Frankly, I am increasingly really appreciating decorating, in any palette, that embraces comfort and unpretentiousness, and doesn't have to 'wow', perform or impress. One might think this is a result of my grandma stage of life, but I began leaning in this direction since my late 40's. BTW MTN, IMO the chair's teal frames appear to reference the wall color in your photo of the TB interior above....See More4Heidesign
