Decorating around an 80's floral couch
Comments (21)oh wow. that's some nice upholstery! I'd go for visually light, leggy furniture..so that the room wouldn't be too bottom heavy. If you love rattan-there are beautiful pieces of furniture made of it, from small end tables to etageres. I can see some industrial element as well-to juxtapose with the very comfy, patterned chairs. Plants, of course. Bohemian doesn't necessarily gravitate toward bright colors..there are no rules when it comes to bohemian, i guess that's partly what makes this style..No strict rules, and an attitude of a traveler I found some pictures-they use neutrals mostly, yet the rooms are bohemian I think your chairs are wonderful. I wouldn't even think of reupholstering them, unless the fabric is torn or ruined or something. Can you attach a pic of your room? But if not-can you move everything out of the room, or, say, put it all in a corner, and look only at the chairs? Or even-sit on the floor, look at the chairs?:) some brilliant ideas come when we change things, or at list our visual relationship to them I'd make these chairs stars of the show. You have a great opportunity to create a unique room, with these....See MoreRed floral couch - rug suggestions?
Comments (27)Hi Bunty, we are all just guessing here as we have no real clues on what direction you want to go in decorating with your floral sofa. Anyway, hopefully you will get some ideas of possibilities. I really like the simple green marble top coffee table but would put a cool light colored vintage look tray on top so the green marble just peeks through. P.S It's difficult to see the "real" red-ish rose or Red color on the sofa due to shaddows so the reds in accessories or art in my mock-up could be changed to something more suitable....See MoreNeed help with this Floral couch
Comments (4)Do you have anything else in the room? Pictures of the room would be helpful. When you say the room is all white, do you mean the walls? The sofa looks cream, it might be best to get it into your room to see how it looks....See MorePine walls, Floral Sofas..Dated? Ugly?...No Way
Comments (53)I still always bristle to hear rooms called 'grandma'.; using grandma as a pejorative...as far as the autumnal colors, the naturalness of such a palette is relaxing to me, and why I've used such warm colors in parts of my home. Including, in one room, pine paneling, floral curtains (once the new windows are in) and the warm, gentle, autumnal colors. Frankly, I am increasingly really appreciating decorating, in any palette, that embraces comfort and unpretentiousness, and doesn't have to 'wow', perform or impress. One might think this is a result of my grandma stage of life, but I began leaning in this direction since my late 40's. BTW MTN, IMO the chair's teal frames appear to reference the wall color in your photo of the TB interior above....See MoreRelated Professionals
