Toothies, lates and rebloomers on Friday

Yesterday was exciting! It makes the second day I've seen a fox in the neighborhood this year. Unfortunately it was running too fast to get a photo. Next, I discovered several daylilies with late emerging scapes: Allegheny Skyline, Season Finale, Annette's Magic, Reckless Girls and Shelby! Best of all, it rained for several hours in the afternoon, so I didn't have to water.

Today there were more blooms than I expected.

August Cherry and Regal Finale

Amber Finale

Venus Flytrap, which I got last fall, is just now blooming. Nice set of teeth!

Ruffled Strawberry Parfait

Border Blessed with a pretty rebloom flower

Crimson Reflections rebloom

Flying Blue Dragon rebloom has a much larger flower but still on short scapes.

Violet Tranquility rebloom

I think Insider Trading is my very favorite red this season. It's the smallest of my reds with a 5-inch bloom, but it packs a powerful punch. It doesn't have a fancy edge, but it always shows beautiful form, opens well, and has terrific foliage. Finally, it's keeping the red bed red long after most others are finished.

Insider Trading from this morning in the shade.

Insider Trading in the sun during the early afternoon. The coreopsis is still going strong too!
