C daylilies 2018
Comments (45)There sure are many lovely daylilies under letter C. Claudine's Charm and Clown Parade look fabulous in many gardens. I love the scape photo of Crazy Miss Daisy, and the clump shot of that one. Circus Performer and Cherry Ice Cream Smile always catch my eye. Here are some of my C's: Cardinal Desire is a nice red in the late season. Coastal Grand was one of my best budded cultivars but often had trouble opening. Cary Grant was wonderfully sunfast last season. Chilled Orange Sorbet is a very slow multiplier here. Cool Twister Carolina Pale Face Corolla Light Carefree Sunset Carolina Cool Down Crimson Reflections...See MoreQ and R daylilies 2018
Comments (36)Ruby Storm --nice, though not as excited as David is. Modest bud count so far. Red Skeletons --Makes a statement. Sometimes a little splotchy. Vigorous Round Midnight --striking bluish purple color Royal Girls --striking color. vigorous Roses for Dallas Romanian Rendezvous--needs warmer climate. Doesn't like afternoon heat. Rock Solid --vigorous Rose Masterpiece --reliably good except for some splotches. Vigorous. Redheaded Hussy --sometimes rebloom Ruby Grandeur --well budded...See MoreBest Near Whites of the Daylily Season 2018
Comments (36)Now that I am home again, I had to post this lily. It is Voila Francois. No doubt, the most perfectly formed white I have. I don't think I have ever had an ugly bloom on this one. The second is Stardust Dragon. (I don't know this new trick Houzz performed in putting my photos together! Not my intention. It bopped my narrative below it and I have to edit.) New this year. But it multiplied rapidly and bloomed and then rebloomed. I think I will like it . Kate...See MoreBest Patterned Daylilies of the 2018 Season
Comments (26)All the patterned daylilies posted are amazing. I especially like Bow Tie Affair and Stenciled Infusion. Karen, your seedlings are lovely. I hope they have good plants under those beautiful flowers. Here are my best patterns. Geometric Wizard continues to be one of my favorites. It does very well here for a southern-bred daylily. Curious Cutie is from the same hybridizer and I have often wondered if they share genetics. Its biggest fault is that it turns to mush in rain, but Geometric Wizard does not. I Don't Kid is doing well here. The third flower in the background is Purple Maze which is very similar in looks. I love the delicate coloring on Ink and Pink. Four Beasts in One is not well established yet, but I like the looks of it. Oceans Eleven has been in the garden for many years. I love the eye. It often has a metallic look. Here is Get Jiggy in our garden. This is the best pattern we have seen, but we haven't seen it often. Of course, if patterns really show best in cooler weather, we aren't going to see many in west central Indiana. I know I have gone over my limit, but I have to post a pattern we found in a seedling. I didn't expect it as neither parent has a pattern. Nancy...See MoreRelated Professionals
