Monday & Tuesday Daylilies pt. 2
Comments (14)Marg, My Wineberry Candy plant is two years old. I bought it from Oakes daylilies in 2010. Bloomed three times last year. Here's a bush shot I'm not actually sure how old Jinx is exactly because I got her from the animal shelter a few weeks ago. She's a rescue! When I had her spayed, the vet said they thought she was less than a year old. I'm so very happy to have her. Almost three years ago now, I lost my last garden kitty in a house fire. Our other cat was able to escape the house, but my Mokie did not. I was missing her terribly about a month ago, and saw a sign at the grocery store that said, "come meet your new best friend today!" It was an advertisement for the city animal shelter. I seriously went that day and found Jinx. It was like she was waiting for me. :)...See MoreTuesday's daylilies
Comments (13)Thanks Rita, Fooled Me looked really good to me today too. Julia, Beyond Riches had some sculpting last year, but I don't think it was this obvious. The photos I have from last year don't look so pronounced. Maybe it needed to settle in a bit. Thanks Ellie! Debra, Heavens Proclaim is indeed huge, not as tall as I would expect for such a large flower. It really stands out. Linda, daylilies are really blooming, getting pretty close to peak, & not the end of May yet. Unbelievable! In a normal year I only have 2 or 3 blooming now. I have noticed several polys, I had 2 yesterday too. There was a poly today on Jamaican Me Crazy, its first bloom, but it was pretty wild looking so I didn't take a photo....See MoreToday's Blooms 062414
Comments (8)I'm looking at your first two photos and wondering what on earth is wrong with your old camera? The clarity of those photos is ten times better than either of my cameras. I'm not usually drawn to small flowered daylilies, but I really like the first one. Tactical Cat and Captivating Smile are satisfying my need for cool, purplish daylilies right now and, of course, Wild Cherry Wine is such a fabulous pure pink. I want to bring popcorn next time, so bring 'em on!...See MoreBlooms From Tuesday
Comments (5)Destined To See of course!! Love it & great pic! I can see it a million times & not get sick of it. Guess what I'm going to do when mine blooms...post a pic! I'll be to gosh darn excited not to! I hope I didn't just jynx myself. That is really interesting seeing Chance Encounter & Roman Cohort next to each other. It always seemed CE was bright, RC has it beat....See Morenat4b
