Old Gun Cabinet to New China Cabinet
Comments (6)All I see is one picture of the gun cabinet.Have you already transformed it into a china cabinet or is that a work in progress? I think it would make a neat china cabinet and if you have already done that would love to see pictures of the finished product......Lillie...See Morespray or handpaint builtins white
Comments (1)Personally, I like to spray; I think it gives a better, more even coverage, and I can more easily do two things; get into corners and control overall coverage, and decide what the best amount is for each coat. That way, I can control any fuzzing or other problems from coat to coat. It also allows me to build the finish the way I want to....See MorePaint Old Cabinet or New Cabinet?
Comments (5)Neither for now. Painting it white will just make it look cheaper and you don’t want to sink money into a new one if you’ll be redoing the bathroom in a few years. I would: -remove the large mirror and get two smaller framed mirrors -switch out dated bar light fixtures -remove backsplash from countertop -repair walls and paint a bright white -scrub the heck out of that shower tile Bright, clean, and a few minor updates will extend this bathroom a few years....See MoreAppropriate Screws & # for Wall Cabinet Install
Comments (22)Drywall screws and cabinet screws have two very different heads on them. Drywall screws need to counter sink cabinet screws don't. One clamps the wood one needs to penetrate the wood the size of the head before it bears any load. This of course weakens the wood and mounting. Home Depot sells GRK screws in the proper cabinet installation head. Simply back them out and install the correct ones. Cabinets should be installed with a French Cleat system with makes the install that much easier and neater. It is important to also be sure the screw hole is larger then the actual screw. What can happen otherwise is you are putting the stress in the wrong area. Go get all your plates and glass you will install in one cabinet put them in a box and weigh them. Then you will understand why using a sheetrock screw which has just about zero shear strength should not be used. Tell him to place his kids head under there while you test it. Ridiculous, cost is probably $2 in difference....See More- 7 years ago
