Know it's a wee bit of a drive south for you, but he carries many different Mango varieties, and is a great resource for more rare fruit varieties.He might even be able to coordinate a meeting and drop off for you, if you pick up several varieties, as he does do a lot of deliveries up the 15 to Orange County. The only time I ate a mango was when I ate this one cake at a cafe in Downtown Denver. Well, I did eat it many times :) But I never bought them to eat by themselves. Now that I live in the Middle East I eat mangoes all summer long because they are crazy about them here. We have one mango tree at our home but it is not my most favorite..my MIL got it from Oman over 10 years ago. The mangoes are small and pale yellow inside... with a slightly tart flavor. So far I like the ones that have a real orange color inside. Like the Alphonso mangoes from India, which just started recently being sold here. They are still a tad expensive but over the next month or so the price should drip as more will be imported. My husband's favorite are from Pakistan--they are large and oval shaped and a more yellow to yellow-orange in color. I think they are good, but prefer the Alphonso. I just did an image search for some of the mango varieties listed here.. the Kent one looks like the really orange colored kinds I love. Valencia Pride looks more similar in shape and color (I think it might be smaller though) to the Pakistani mangoes my husband likes. I will be visiting family in Denver this September. I think I will be asking my sister to pick up several varieties of mangoes (hopefully they sell many of the ones listed here) and have her freeze them so I can taste them when I get there :)

@mango_kush yes we have problems with fruit flies here also, but they don't attack the Ruby Supreme guava. They do attack other guava varieties with a strong guava smell. I have even picked rotten guavas off the ground and inspected them for maggots and found none just sugar ants. The soursop has been that height for over 3 years now. When it reaches the height of the house the cold weather kills that wood. All I ever do is trim any dead wood when it goes dormant. This soursop is a Filipino variety. I planted it about 2 feet from the house on purpose so that it could survive the cold weather since its extremely sensitive to cold temperatures. @pulglvr1 you can try contacting the company that makes the product using the link below. When I first saw the product I knew that it was perfect for protecting plants and this past winter definitely proved that to me. Be aware that just covering your plants using this product alone may not enough. You must also provide a sustainable heat source such as a light bulb of sufficient wattage. I did lay this bubble blanket along the ground to the window sill on the west side of the house to protect sugar apple and pineapple plants. From the picture you can see that all the plants below the bubble wrap survived without any damage even though I did not use a heat source. The bubble blanket was able to trap the heat from the ground and the cinder blocks to keep the plants alive. If you look closely you can see that 3 of the pineapple plants have fruited. Puglvr, BTW I am a Collielvr and so I understand, I haven't learned to post pictures yet. I don't even know how to take pictures with the digital camera. My husband calls me a Luddite but this is not true. I love modern conveniences. I just hate to take the time to learn when I can be growing plants and doing other things I like more. I know this has drawbacks. For instance, I know that I will not exist until I post pictures. OhioJay has said so. BTW I am in Ohio too - near Dayton. Question: I started two Manilla type mangoes this Spring. They were coming along nicely and so were each transplanted into a 2 gallon pot. This site had said to pinch out the strongest shoot and so I did. They promptly died. Was the pinching too soon or should I look for another cause. Also what is the timing on root pruning? On the mango that I started last year, monocarpic type, I knew that I did not want a tap root and so I cut it off a few inches from the crown at the end of its first summer. It didn't seem to harm it exactly but may have caused a pause in growth. What is the timing on tap root pruning? Cath
