Bambi keeps walking right by this border of Stella D'oro daylilies on her/his/ way to devour all other Daylily buds in my yard. There is almost total devastation.

Yes, that's a great blue heron...stops by fairly often to fish in our pond.

Igmd-gaz, we stake out ivory soap bars around our plants that are attractive to deer and it keeps them away. The soap bars do need to be replaced maybe twice a year as, if they lose their scent, they won't work any more.

joan-nm, I remember being in Yellowstone stuck in bison-jams, including one on a loop trail where we had bison before us and behind us...a little nerve wracking until we managed to gingerly encourage a few to move on.

Joann, those are wonderful pictures. I saw a single bison walking down the road at Yellowstone a couple of years ago and remember being thrilled. But those babies are incredible.

I love going to the Dakotas in May, many foals and bison calves. And the Meadowlarks must be courting, because they are singing like mad in May. These were all taken in Theo. Roosevelt NP in Medora, ND and Custer State Park in SD. Both are a great place to see wildlife.

My son's doofus cat. He's missing the boy who has been gone since June 18th and won't be back until next Tuesday. Derpy cat is named Murphy.

Annie, I haven't tried the soap thing to discourage the deer. Daughter has some hanging in her yard and says it seems to work as long as the soap in within a few feet of what she wants to protect.

Liquid Fence works well for me if I am diligent about timing and consider any rain washing it off in the equation. I should hang the soap to help take up any slack. You say Ivory, I have always heard Irish Spring.

Joanmn, my memories of Bison is a herd of them walking within 10 feet of the road we were riding on in N.D. Too close for comfort when on a motorcycle.

I've been trying to get back to this post since last Friday. Sorry for the hit and run but I'm always on the go. Every free day I'm out taking photos. Every free moment in the evening, I'm processing them. I hang out almost entirely at Facebook these days and post my photos there and at Flickr daily.
