11 years agoThis is known as a 'Candy Lily', but is not really a lily. It is Pardancanda. It has leaves much like Iris. I don't recall planting this, but it showed up in the middle of an island bed last year. It is a good 4' tall.

Comments (21)Annie, I haven't tried the soap thing to discourage the deer. Daughter has some hanging in her yard and says it seems to work as long as the soap in within a few feet of what she wants to protect. Liquid Fence works well for me if I am diligent about timing and consider any rain washing it off in the equation. I should hang the soap to help take up any slack. You say Ivory, I have always heard Irish Spring. Joanmn, my memories of Bison is a herd of them walking within 10 feet of the road we were riding on in N.D. Comments (22)Congratultions to "Donna" for the new award! :) susan, the yellow daylily is lovely. Took me a second to realize that the reason it looked so full was that it has four petals and sepals! Do you know the cultivar name? Years ago, I went through a huge daylily phase, but haven't kept up with introductions ones for quite a while now. joanmn, does that water level happen often? 11 years agoJim, that is a crinum, a type of lily and a member of the amaryllis family. They also grow in Florida.
