Can't believe I am asking this.... but how to discourage blooms?

I love my Hoya shepherdii dearly. It bloomed recently on its first peduncle, and while the blooms where lovely the scent in the evenings was enough to push my scent allergy to the brink.

Now, silly thing is sprouting 3 more bud filled peduncles and I am sort of dreading the smell. It will probably have to go outside for that one. One peduncle was enough to give me a minor headache in the living room. And it has 4 now, ahahahha.

What I really want it do to is grow more leaves and vines. Right now, it seems to be putting all of its energy into blooms. And it grows in a North window, so less light would be tough.

I suppose I could cut the peduncles... or maybe give it fertilizer higher in nitrogen?

Failing that.... maybe someone with similar problems has found a way to tone the fragrance down and still be able to enjoy the flowers? Maybe I could hose it down really good or something?
