I can't believe its ending like this....
Comments (15)I'm really sorry greenthumb i know it is alot of hard work and babying. I took alot of my houseplants out on my deck and forgot about them as far as putting them in the shade and hardening off and actually taking the time to see what could tolerate direct sun and what could'nt...dumb, dumb, dumb on my part i know but they made the area look so homey. Well I just about killed everything i put out there off and they were doing so beautifully. Beings i am not a houseplant person i was really proud of myself and when this happened i could have just sit down and cried...so i understand. But some things are growing back and somethings i will have to replace...live and learn i guess. I use the liquid hand soap, the walmart brand on my roses and tried it on my cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower and they are doing okay so far...1-2 tablespoons per quart is what i found on the internet and been using (have only sprayed the veggies once and the roses twice with this)...sounds like however that is more than is generally used by most on this forum...although i pulled one of those little green catepillars off and sprayed it with this solution and it killed the little sucker...haaa eat a hole in my rose will ya lol! I usually do it of the evening which may be wrong, not sure...but that is when i have time to play out in my yard with my flowers and garden =). We all make mistakes...I think you should treat yourself to something, go buy you some more veggies and add to it a ton of flowers and maybe stop on the way home for a blizzard or banana split- comfort food always makes ya feel better lol! You deserve it!...See MoreI can't believe I'm asking this!

There are all too few neighbors like that. People like her don't water your plants and pick up your mail and keep an eye on your house, then deliberately make a point of sabotaging your compost pile. I don't see that you really need to point out that she made a boo-boo. I had a meth lab next door to me for three years. Trust me, when people are AHs, there's no question. Sue...See MoreOh no! I can't believe this.

I thought I responded, but my mom passed away during that time and I may not have remembered to let you know. We are waiting to find slabs big enough to do our project without seams. The fabricator is looking Our everyday dinner plates are 10-3/4" and fit nicely in our 12" outside measurement cabinets. The interior measurement is 11 1/2". We have partial overlay doors. Nansea57 - Wow! Glad you got a solution to your problem. Your KD followed through and hopefully everything will be okay....See MoreOMG I'm cleaning my rose beds & can't believe how many roses are dead!
Comments (15)Sympathies on the losses, Beth. I know you love your oddball roses and you're one of the people in the US that has some of these unobtainable roses. It's frustrating to lose track of such things, but as you mentioned you've had a lot else on your mind. I'm glad you are at peace about your mom, but it still has taken a toll in emotions and time along the way. It's good that many of the roses will be replaceable, and I'm sure Burling would reserve some of them for you if needed. Take a deep breath and look at the roses that have SURVIVED and are blooming. For me that's the antidote to the rose carnage we have in cold zones after every winter. I grieve the ones I've lost till I pull the tags and wipe them from my lists, then they aren't staring me in the face to remind me of what isn't there anymore. Sometimes then I can look back at the losses after a year or two and appreciate something I've put in place instead as much or more. I wish I could share cuttings with you to help out, but getting plants in and out of California isn't something one can do on a casual basis I fear. Hang in there and take lots of fabulous pictures of the roses you still have! We'll be watching for them. Cynthia...See MoreKim
