Unhappy Stained Glass Hosta

Let's start out with the fact that I'm pretty new to dealing with hostas. I've got a few around my house that were well established when we moved in about 13 years ago. They're doing great. This year I decided to add more in the same bed as some of the established ones. The bed stretches along the east side of the house, and my neighbor's house and a couple of large trees keep it mostly in the shade, aside from a couple hours from about 10am- noon. Two of the hostas I planted are doing great. But my stained glass Hosta is further north at the front of the bed and gets a little more sun. Also, that portion of the bed is only about 5 years old since we added to the bed then. I don't know why it doesn't look well- sort of wilted and losing color- maybe too much sun? Or the soil has too much clay? Any insights? Thank you in advance!
