I keep meaning to look up one of the stores, I could use one more piece of cabinetry or even something like a buffet with 'counter' type area on top, drawers below for my garage. The nearest store is 55 miles, and although close to Costco I just haven't gotten there yet. I should make more of an effort and maybe I'd be lucky too.

Was this Habitat for Humanity store or something else? Our HfH store is a total junk shop and I can't imagine it having either granite or wheelchairs. Congratulations on the find.

Yes it's exactly like the picture. My other wheelchair is spicy red and black. This will be so much better for me to use. My old was having some issues and I had been looking at new options.

By the way the granite I picked out not signed on for sure but I like it a lot, called White Thunder.

Yes it's habitat for humanity restore. Nono I didn't get granite there, boy I wish! I was driving by there from the granite yard. But I did buy quite a bit of porcelain tile there and yesterday I found a perfect match of blue glass pencil tile for bordering my showers tile. At $5 a box! This particular store is very large it used to be a big Randall grocery store. We have had good luck finding stuff there. If you need a brand new lampshade in any size or color they have literally thousands of them. I don't know if a factory closed and they got all the stock but I have never seen so many lampshades all brand new never used. They have a lot of new stuff much lower cost. We have been buying the replacement electrical outlets there the face plates new with screws are a dollar a bag of 20 or so.

We went to Lowe's to look at the tile I wanted from there and find out the price on carpet. There was a manager in the carpet area and she was asking what we needed and I said everything. The other guy in the department had helped my husband buying supplies and said are you still living in the rv. The manager said what? So I told her what has transpired in our lives and the mortgage company holding our money and we have probably already put $10,000 or more on the Lowe's card which we pay off each month. She was furious how we were being treated. So she called her manager and they are giving us a minimum of 10 %discount on everything we buy from them for our house and will give us no interest for 24 months even if that offer has expired. Plus if we pay with the Lowe's card we get our regular 5% discount. They will wave the fees for coming to measure. And I told her I wanted to make sure the tile I wanted was still available in quantity. Thank goodness I did because the tile for my master shower was being clearance was reduced to a wonderful price and was getting very limited plus she gave us the discount on top of the sale price. So we snatched it up. The floor tile for the house was all gone I was panicking but she said she can order as much as I need and give me the discount. I was blown away by them. They said we were such great customers they were glad to help however they could.

Now why can't our mortgage company appreciate us and want to help. So big kudos to Lowe's today. This is my master shower tile. See that price! Yeehaw

Happy for you, Raven! My favorite Habitat ReStore find is an antique front door. It has beveled glass and fancy trim. It was marked down to $55 because it is a 32" door and too small for most people's houses. I have a small room, off the hall, that is a bedroom that was cut in half when the house was moved. We made half of the room into enlarging the bathroom, and the other half is to be my computer/tv room. I watch very little tv but my tastes and husbands are worlds apart. So having a door with half glass helped to make the room seem a little bigger....plus we put an extra large window, so that helps too. I bought a reproduction glass knob for it...amber glass. I believe the door knob cost more than the door!

I justwent to lock in the white thunder granite counter tops and he is doing a rolling island for me the height I need for in my chair. He also sells cabinets so I asked him to bid that and I might have him do the whole kitchen. I really like him. He gave me the same price for the sink I wanted as Lowe's quoted so he is going to get that taken care of too. We picked up more of the tile at habitat store because we decided to replace the floor tile in that bathroom because they had no tile under the vanity and we are going with stand alone furniture look vanities. So we need to tile and the old tile was not good.

Raven....have you looked at GHI Custom Cabinets? You can order them anywhere, they arrive flat, then assemble them. They're the highest quality tongue 'n groove, plywood boxes, soft close cabs. They cost about 1/4 of what most cabinets cost. They have Shaker....and other styles. Various colors. Here's a price list PDF.

I did and at cliq studio and a few others but my husband wants ones fully assembled rather than need to be assembled. Tomorrow the Amish cabinets company are coming to measure and give me an estimate. That will give me a few different options.

The workers are BACK!! Yesterday we finally received a check from the mortgage company for a portion of our money. Good grief what an ordeal. And instead of the check being made out just to us it's made out to us and our contractors company. So he endorsed it and gave me a copy of his business w9 with his signature on it. We go to our bank and immediately there's a problem. We are told it can't be deposited into our account it must be deposited into the contractor business account. We went round and round. Nope not budging. We don't owe that amount to the contractor it's our money not his. Well we had to call him to come to the bank and deposit our entire check into his account. Now please tell me how this protects me the homeowner? This is how contractors are running off with huge sums of money! So all the money is in his account. We trust him and hopefully he will deposit our money back into our account today but good grief what happens if he doesn't. I just think this is the most ridiculous display of stupidity. What do you think the mortgage company would do if that happens and we have no funds to fix the house because this position they are putting homeowners in that's a definite possibility. No doubt they would come after the homeowner.

ok just got confirmation from the bank the funds have been deposited into my account. Thank goodness that is done. Now we begin the tedious task of trying to get the rest of the money from the mortgage company.

Thankful that your contractor is an honest man and deposited the money back into "your" account. It's just insane what people have to go through when dealing with a bank. You will probably go through the same thing again with the "rest" of the money that is due to you.
