Not too much rain. This plant has had yellowing of the leaves since it was a seedling. I have gotten a few messages from people that the Golden Midget just has yellowish leaves. I can propose that maybe the fruit turning yellow/falling off is because of lack of pollination? I have a blacktail mountain watermelon growing right next to it that has no problems.

well, im not an expert on watermelons, but i do remember hearing that if the leaves curl up on tomato, iit from over-watering. -(or not enough) also kinda looks like a mildew,r virus or fungus on the leaves which also could be due to over-watering . and if you can water the roots, and not get it on the leaves. Normally wavy ruffled leaves are weather related. The emerging leaf gets hung up or stuck in the fan temporarily if there is a slight change during growth.

After extensive searching of the internet this morning, I have developed a plan of action. I am keeping the plant. As it is in a container I will segregate it from the other plants. I went out this morning and removed all infected foliage. This was a little bit disheartening as all new growth is infected. Even the newly forming suckers lower on the plant. But none of the mature leaves are. Good news, it has lots of small fruit set and none of them seem to be infected. Bonide copper spray seems to be the most recommended for bacterial speck or spot. So I bought some this morning. And I am moving the plant into a location that receives less sun (and therefore heat) than the others as the new fruit set on the top has no protection from sunscald with all the new foliage removed. Hopefully, the copper spray will make a difference and the plant will produce some new suckers that aren't infected. But if not, I think I can keep it going until I can get some ripe fruit to determine if I want to grow this next year. If I do, I will have to buy seed as it is not recommended to save seed from a bacterial infected plant. That's the plan, hopefully it works. Lesson learned, rotate the types of fungicides you use. Each one has it's strenghths against different types of disease. Jennie
