Hello quilters! Did you sew this week? I worked on the baby quilt for the newest grandbaby but am at a standstill till DD decides on the appliques she wants on it. The main part of the quilt is sewn. I still have to order the border fabric because the LQS didn't have the print she wants me to use. I am not stressing out about it, if she wants it finished she has to get the info to me.

Today I worked in the yard, trimming some bushes and pulling weeds. It was so warm that I didn't stay out for long. The killdeer that nested under our tree in front of our house last year is back. She has 4 eggs in the nest which is located in the same spot as last year. We need to add more mulch around the tree but will wait till the eggs hatch.

My sewing plans are to work on some UFOs when the mood to sew hits me. Do you have plans to sew this weekend?

No sewing this weekend. A close friend and neighbour died this week and the funeral is tomorrow. DD#2 is coming home for that so we will be doing lots of talking afterwards.

i have been in a REAL slump lately and need to get my mojo back. Many ideas but no ambition. Lots of visits to the Chiropractor lately interferes with my plans as well. And this week I fell on the road and am pretty sore. Klutz!

Maybe next week.

Oh Theresa, I'm sorry you fell. Hope you feel better soon and your mojo returns to keep you in the house and at the sewing machine.........less chance of falling.

I'm slowly getting the Quacky Duck together. I made a Patchwork Scottie Dog (http://www.favequilts.com/Quilted-Toys/Piece-a-Patchwork-Scottie-Dog-from-Denyse-Schmidt-Quilts) that was fun.....now I just need to sew the opening closed......I might make another one but not this week-end. Not sure what I'll work on, but yes, I hope to be sewing. :-) Maybe I'll play with my new homespuns.........

LOL!!!!!! I can't tell you how many times I type guilt for quilt and have to correct it!!! Blowing raspberries at Teresa for having working AC lol!!! please show us some pics of your tea wallets - I have started on a purse over a year ago and still haven't finished it. Yep, we are having T-storms and 85% humidity, tomorrow is going to be the worse. We are about like Altamonte, Fl - far enough inland to miss the worse of the storm. We need the rain so much - but the farmers are still harvesting onions. Sometimes in March we have winds that are stronger than I remember the tropical storms in FL. Donna, I remember going to the movies and the mall everyday for a week when we had the hurricanes in a row lol!!! I think being without AC is much easier than totally out of electric. If you have ever watched "Mayberry" you know what Glennville, GA is like lol. One friend moved here when his wife's fam needed help and he told DH it was like moving to a third world country lol!!!! Well, I had planned on it! It was to be a nice break from nursing my DH, who had an eyelid and brow lift last week. His stitches came out Thursday morning. But just after midnight Friday a.m., a call from an ambulance - my son was found unconscious, next to his bicycle. So off to the trauma center. Son will be fine, but he has severe contusions to his left eye, chin, right hand, and left knee, as well as general bruising all over his chest. THANK GOD he was wearing his helmet! Friends riding a few minutes behind him found him and called 911. As he posted on his Facebook page (with a gory photo) "Face versus Pavement: Pavement ALWAYS wins." We were in the ER for about 8 hours, and then brought him home so we could watch for evidence of concussion. And cosset him, of course, LOL. So having been up for more than 24 hours, I took a nap!!

Glad to hear someone is sewing this week-end as I probably won't get a chance until maybe tomorrow. Today DGD is moving back home from Orlando for a month as she can't get into the dorm until August and the lease ran out on the apt she was sharing......one more year of college. Tonight is a BD bash out at DDs ranch for the other DGDs husband and I offered to make oven baked mac and cheese for 15 people. In between this, that and the fence post, we're preparing to be invaded (Thursday) by most of the Indiana family to celebrate my honey's 80th BD........since I'll be 75 in Sept, they decided to include me in the 4 day celebration that just happens to include a lot of fireworks. I'm thinking the cows won't be giving any milk for a few days and the horses (all 2 of them) will get spooked. Sounds like everyone has something to do in the sewing room.......carry on.....

Sue - I like the fish pattern and the book will be great with it! I sewed the squares together for the Sweetheart Twister wallhanging and got 2 of the 4 borders on it. Next will be the "twist" cutting and I'm nervous about that step. Just have the border to put on the Star Wars zipper quilt. But, alas, my Bernina finally said enough, get me to the the shop for servicing (where I bought it) and I'll be doing that on Tuesday. So no more sewing until I get it back. Now I'll be cutting fabric for the Block Lottos and doing my other love - card making.

Theresa, I hope you feel better and get your mojo back soon. Sometimes I go through my fabric in the cupboard and that helps me get back to sewing.

I am quilting a small quilt I pieced last weekend. I used some butterfly squares I received at Camp Cheerio 2 years ago from Jackie and put it together. Got it sandwiched last night and started a little quilting today. I am trying to get our new fence stained and it started raining - not in the forecast- URG. More time to sew, I guess. If it clears off tomorrow, I need to spend more time on the fence ...

I want to get borders on a baby quilt that I am working on and then get it on the frame to quilt. It is so hot here, that anything I do will be on the inside. The heat index has been around 107 the past few days. I may get out later and visit some shops for the row by row patterns. Dinner is already in the crockpot so I am already ahead. Theresa, hope you feel better soon and get your mojo back.

Theresa, I'm sorry for your loss! And I hope you feel better soon - both with the chiropractic issues and with the fall!

I plan to finish piecing a lap-size top today and maybe even load it on the quilt frame tomorrow! The frame and Juki machine won't know what's going on - it's been so long since I used them! LOL

Mostly I'm just hoping to have a normal weekend. Between Mom's passing (Memorial weekend), trips to Lakeland to get personal/sensitive items out of her house, and our trip last week I haven't had just a plain old, do-the-laundry-and-sew weekend in a while. :)

I, too, am so sorry for your loss and hope you recover from your fall quickly. We came home from our camping trip early, so I may get to sew today. Or at least get one in the frame for quilting.

No particular quilting but managed to run up a few seams on some baby things. I did however buy some additional fabric for a new quilting adventure. I've had a print I love for over a year and noticed it the other day. It needed some other things to go with it so my Mother's Day gift card was pressed into service. My DH loves it when I spend someone else's money! Now to decide on a definite pattern and get going.

Sewed the correct block for June block lotto! Cut out July and started sewing some of them. Had to order some white fabric to go with, so when that gets delivered I can finish those blocks.

Thanks, Grammyp! I did have a very nice relaxing weekend. Got the quilt top finished and the backing pieced, so I can quilt it next weekend. I also finished a book I was reading.
