I've been looking into lights at Amazon and similar places, mainly because I don't want to take a long bus ride to the nearest Walmart or similar store. I note that grow lights now come in all shapes and sizes, including shapes and sizes that can be put in regular light fixtures like old-fashion light bulbs. You would want to make sure that any unusual bulb didn't stress or overheat your lamp. Currently I use fixtures (often called under cabinet light fixtures) with 2-foot long bulbs, and I have one elderly (+20 years old) shop light with 4-foot long bulbs. In both cases a mix of cool white and "grow-light" bulbs. You can also find info on YouTube, searching "grow lights". One video talked about those new lights with red/green/blue bulbs, testing them vs fluorescent grow lights. Poster wasn't impressed with the fancy lights... Anyhow, there is a lot of info out there so you can make an informed choice :)

Showing a bit of stress, nothing out of the ordinary. However, here are some hard truths The flowers on the companion cacti...they are glued on. Fake, if you will. Removing them...may damage the cacti. Maybe with a hair dryer. They also dont like sharing the pot. They need a lot less water than the aloe vera. Also, a lot more light... The other aloe also grows faster and larger than the vera, if given right conditions. The red one , the gymnocalycium mihanovichii, hibotan(aka moon cactus), is grafted. The stocks or the plants have a tendency to rot, irregardless of conditions.

Very common problem. One reason I stopped growing asters; that and the rabbits. I was again tempted by theNY aster series "showtime" at a farmstand so I googled it on the spot. The Chicago Botanic garden had trials and in the report it said that many asters are disfigured by brown foliage at the bottom. I see that in other late bloomers.often cimigifugas...so I have wondered whether the stress of the growing season and variables in weather and water causes or contributes to browning. I think you need to pay attention to watering evenly....don't stress them with dry and wet.
