Aster leaves turn brown and dry at the tips

Hi guys, I recently bought this Aster plant and potted it in a container on the balcony. Made sure the soil type and Ph is relevant to its needs. After the blue flowers were gone its leaves started getting brown and drying out at the ends. It's been in the container for about a month. What do you think is the reason for that?

Very common problem. One reason I stopped growing asters; that and the rabbits. I was again tempted by theNY aster series "showtime" at a farmstand so I googled it on the spot. The Chicago Botanic garden had trials and in the report it said that many asters are disfigured by brown foliage at the bottom.

I see that in other late bloomers.often cimigifugas...so I have wondered whether the stress of the growing season and variables in weather and water causes or contributes to browning.

I think you need to pay attention to watering evenly....don't stress them with dry and wet.

seems like the wrong forum for this question but; Could be several reasons, too cold, too hot, too many ferts, too little ferts, too much sun, not enough sun etc. If it is in a pot it will be a challenge. What type of squash and how old and how big and how many leaves? It sounds like it needs ot go in the ground and just given a chance to grow. Sometimes you just need to give a plant time to grow.

Yes, looks like transplant shock. Even if you water a lot, the roots aren't established enough to bring the water to the leaves and they dry up. And they can't resist the sun, so they burn. I would simply remove the burned leaves. You could shade them a bit or even mist them to cool them off and prevent them from losing internal moisture. And lay off the MG. MG is great for annuals and tomatoes, but for roses, organic slow release fertilizers are better. Once the roses are established, you can give them MG once in awhile for a boost, as long as they have other food available.

Susceptibility to leaf tip browning varies from variety to variety. The most common cause, however, is lack of water. The plant withdraws moisture from the leave tips first, causing the death of the tissue in that area. Just to make things more confusing, it can also be caused by too much water, inadequate drainage or inconsistent watering. Make sure the potting medium contains lots of air space and is suitable for rhododendrons and the pot itself drains well - this is often not the case with glazed containers - and continue with the careful watering.
