Comments (106)Miss Amy, your box did arrive yesterday and I apologize for not posting sooner. My grandbaby just went home and I wasn't online. Anyways, Amy sent me a wonderful box. It has a bottle holder in shades of blue and off white, an awesome assortment of mixes to put in my water, a hummingbird feeder, a rose scented soap, and seeds :prairie coneflower, blazing stars, portulaca, blanket flower, purple spiderwort! Thanks so much Amy..I loved it!...See MoreTotes/shopping bags I made today
Comments (15)That is what I did...Only I made mine just one thickness..I don't like the double thickness...one layer is tons tougher than that plastic. Also I cut my handles a little thinner so they would "gather" in you hands easier. I think the double ones are too much fabric, especially if you are like me...I sometimes carry in 4 or 5 bags on one arm. Also with the plastic I usually stretch the handles just a little because I want to slip them up on my arm to carry more. So the bags I'm making will have just a little longer handles. I'll get a picture of them and post it when I get some pretty ones done...I made some out of dark check that I had extra of...they aren't real pretty. But yesterday I bought some pretty spring colors with tiny tulips.. Not what I was looking at , but that bolt kind of jumped out and hit me on the head (literally) I figured it wanted to go home with me...LOL patti...See MoreFun new tote bag
Comments (24)Jenni, that bag is adorable and so colorful, I love it! You have access to the best fabrics, I swear. What a great idea, too. I love all the pockets, both outside and inside. The way the handles attach is wonderful and fun. I think you should it list it somewhere! It's very beachy and tropical and would be great for a vacationer to take to the beach. Ah, the dickie. Was that the most annoying piece of clothing ever invented or what? No glue? How is that even possible? lol...See MoreOne colour bottom and middle colour tote bag
Comments (1)Make it all the color of the top and bottom. Sew your middle color over on the center. Measure where you want it down from the top. Turn and press the middle piece 1/2 inch under on top and bottom and stitch with a double seam like you see on jeans. Then sew up the sides matching the center seams. If you want a flat bottom. Turn the bag inside out, match your side seams with the center of the bottom and pin it across making a triangle, then stitch across from side to side. The strap can be strapping you buy at a fabric store or made from your material. If you make it from your material, back it with heavy interfacing. Sew it together and turn it out the right way--the rubber end of a pencil can help with this. Keep the seam at one side of the strap and stitch in 1/4 inch on both sides. The straps can start at canter bottom and go all around the bag. Overlap on the bottom by a few inches. Sew the strap on on both sides of the strap. Following the stitching lines already there if you are using material. I suggest you do some measuring to make sure the strap is the right length. A heavy card or plastic covered in your lining material will keep the bottom flat. I hope this helps If you have trouble post again and I'll try to help...See Morebossyvossy
