Newbie and need help. Orchid dying?
Comments (6)This plant seems healthy to me... green leaves, healthy roots. You might want to cut spike down to between the first and second clippers at. If you are loosing leaves... turn yellow or brown, you might want to cut down the water or report it to a fast drain orchid mixture....See Morenewbie help! my root balls need you
Comments (6)Get a liquid fertilizer with a high middle number. The one I have is 4-10-3. The middle number is for root development. Follow directions on the package and wait. Aside from that, do you have room for eight jackmaniis? Do you really want all 8 of them when there are so many gorgeous and interesting clematis? If you are going to try to raise 8 of one type, you might as well try other varieties too: There' Mme Julia Correvon http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=574 Comtesse de Bouchaud http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=130 Barbara Harrington http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=2946 Huldine http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=20 Duchass of Albany http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=30 Hagley Hybrid http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=196 Justa http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=2085 General Sikorski http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=19 Venosa Violacae http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=585 :-)...See MoreHelp Needed! Dying Pumpkin Plant (Newbie)
Comments (4)Thank you for your input! The planter was pretty big, I had 3 pants each about 13 inches apart. The planter received about 4-7 hours of sunlight depending on the weather. Lately it tends to turn gray and rain for a few hours. I didn't use any fertilizer and I used organic potting soil. I would like to give the Wee B Littles another try, any suggestions for starting over with a new plant?...See MoreLong time lurker, first time poster, clematis newbie -- some questions
Comments (3)Hello.. ok, I know I'm a long way away here, and expect others more local to you will be along shortly to advise, but just thought you might like to see a couple photos of my clematis... I have 'Etoile Violette' growing with 'Minuet'... I don't have Jackmanii... to be honest, I think the flowers on that one are too similar in colour to 'Etoile Violette' to grow next to each other... I prefer a contrast... ..also, over here, and I would expect this would be the same for you, my 'EV' has a spread of about 10-12 foot width, maybe more when established after a couple seasons and fully grown, as does 'Minuet'... I have my plants spaced 6 foot apart with other plants in between... I wouldn't want them any closer as they are trained along my fence and merge and mingle with each other that way... ...when newly planted in the fall, I didn't bother putting up wire support until the Spring of the following season because these Clematis are usually cut right down before winter... to regrow afresh next Spring... ..I have wires going along my fence for them to cling to... I hope this assists you in some way......See MoreN. S.
