I must be doing something right
Comments (7)Toni- yes she had some long shoots in the past, but they broke off from either me moving it or the cat playing with them. All of them!! Then winter hit so I wasn't to worried about them getting long. She only has maybe 4 shoots, and they have at least 3 plants on them, the babies are growing and some have small roots, the shoots are just not getting long. I cannot tell if they are the same shoots that broke or not.(I think they are tho) If they are, will they grow long in time? Come to think of it, the plant itself doesn't seem to be getting bigger either. Very full, green still tho, only 4 dead leaves in the soil this morning, but I think that would be normal for this plant? I took a real good look at it this morning, I didn't see any new shoots. Would repotting her help? I don't think she is root-bound yet, I haven't seen any roots from the holes. Other that the shoots not getting long- she looks pretty healty to me, but this is me we are talking about.;) But I have seem roots in the holes in the pot of my Broomliad Tillandsra (I think that is right) Is it time to repot her? She is still in the pot and soil she came with. thanks Marjie...See MoreUPDATE: Traveling Daylilies 5900... going....going....
Comments (100)Good Morning Everyone. I would like to offer DAYLILY SEEDS to everyone. I know several others have already offered these, but mine have finally finished maturing. Still have one pod on Darla Anita. Please let me know soon, I will be dividing and mailing them out early Friday morning. Gloria, hope you feel better soon. Canna, ohhh, new windows and siding. You will feel like you are living in a new house. SherryB, I thought the iris bud was a late gladiola till it bloomed. The only iris I had bloom this year were siberian. Not one of my bearded Iris bloomed?! Till now that is. We had one cool day in the 60's and now we are in the 80's again for a couple more days. This is August weather! I would post a pic. of the iris, but it is totally boring, just a white iris amongst my dieing fall garden. YOur GD sounds like a wonderful teenager. It must be nice to have her around for the school year. 12 INCH DAYLILIES - I want in on that one too! LOL Dianne, Congrats on becoming a Grandma. I know this isn't too exciting but my family calls the Grandparents by their last names .. ie. Grandma & Grandpa Cook and Grandma & Grandpa Mac (short for MacEachran). My kids did the same thing. Someday I hope to be called Grandma Dolan. (I hope that day is a long way off!) Also, congrats on the new job. I would love to be in the Halloween swap. I will be out shopping today for it. Halloween is my favorite Holiday. Sharon/tma...See MoreSomething is not right with our Chihuahua
Comments (23)He does seem somewhat better this morning. His little eyes are brighter and seems more lively. From what everyone says (and thanks for the link BTW)I won't worry about the inverted hiccup thing. Mac adores DS (who he really belongs to) and when his favorite person comes he is over the moon. I think he hurt his leg, and we have felt everyone more than once, he doesn't yelp with pain and is walking fine....he is like a spring at times. I mean a real Mexican jumping bean! LOL He jumps for joy, he jumps when he's begging he just jumps cause he can! I've never seen a dog that jumps like Mac, that might be a Chi thing too. The receptionist asked me yesterday if he is a jumper I told her that is his middle name! I will keep him quiet and see how he does. I am going to mention everything to the vet when he goes to get his teeth done....See MoreDealing with Bi Polar or Is it something else? Update on my DIL
Comments (28)Ashley, Thank you. I need all the prayers I can get right now. My DIL is too much.. like having a room full of crazy BM's! I am wondering if she has multiple personalities. On Saturday, she accused me of wanting to take DGS so I can have a baby of my own... and when I point blank asked her if she wants him back full time, she said no. She says she can't have a baby full time "at this point" in her life. I mean she flipped from me stealing the baby to saying she can't possibly handle him full time. I was at work and while I was with a customer, she walked out taking DGS with her. By the agreement, she is supposed to have Saturday & Sunday. Well, Sunday she didn't call or bring him back. On Monday, I talked to my son and he told me what she said to him... everything was twisted. He is upset & does not need to be bothered with worrying about this. He has a job to do over there, he should not have to have her telling him to tell me anything. She can tell me herself, but she tells him & he is frustrated because he is over there and can't do anything. So, Tuesday she calls my daughter to ask for diapers. My daughter takes her diapers & DGS had been taken back to the doctor. I called the doctor's office & was told DGS has an ear infection, but is otherwise okay. So, Tuesday evening, I ask her if she is going to stick to the agreement... she says no, he is staying with her. So, I tell her that I still want a drug test & I had talked to my attorney about guardianship. She told me to bring it on and she would pass a drug test. I told her if she takes a drug test and passes, I will drop everything and she can keep DGS full time. (lol, even though she ranted for ten minutes on Saturday on how that was impossible!) She didn't answer me. Then today (Wed) she sent me a text at 5pm, telling me my son wanted us to talk. (my son told me on Monday that he told her to have a talk with me) but I did not write back. Less than an hour later, she called me at work & said she had DGS outside & I need to get him. I wasn't shocked but I was in the middle of working... it's a very busy weekend coming up & normally I leave work at 5, it was 6 & I had planned to stay til about 8. I hesitated and she says "well you do want him don't you.. this is what you want, right?" And, I could not say no to taking him. She said she was going to go ahead & stick to our prior agreement. I went outside & there he was... dried boogers on his face, gunk dried on his eye, his little eyes were red and he looked pathetic. She handed him to me without a word & huffed back to her car. She was visibly angry, like I just forced her to give up her child. I took him inside & then noticed he had a fever. I called her and asked when he had last taken medicine. In a very friendly tone, tells me oops I forgot to give you his medicine, I'll be right there. She came inside & this time (mind you, this was about fifteen minutes after she huffed off) she was being sweet & bubbly.. like we were besties. She said she took a video of him taking a few steps and she couldn't wait to show me but she forgot it at home. It was WEIRD. Like a totally different person. So, I cleaned up and brought DGS home, gave him fever reducer & a bottle. He took a nap and woke up in the evening... we played, he ate, and he went back to sleep. I may finally sleep easier knowing he is here. But, I know she only did this because she wanted to go somewhere tonight. I have to take it one day at a time, because the next time I see or hear from her, I don't know what I'll get....See Morerredpenn
