Want to see something really gross?

Of course you do.

It's the ATTACK OF THE BRIGHT YELLOW SLIME MOLD!

This is a piece of cardboard covering the top of the bedding in my Worm Factory. The moisture level in the bin has been too high lately, so I've been periodically taking the lid off and turning the cardboard over to dry. The cardboard split into two layers, and this bright yellow stuff was growing between them. There are also blotches of it in other spots in the bin.

I believe this is the type of slime mold known as "dog's vomit," although if I ever saw a dog puke up something that looks like this, I would look for the empty jar of yellow tempera paint it just ate. It's really thick and opaque and solidly bright yellow. Thought I'd share it before I dried out the cardboard, which will undoubtably kill it.
