I wish I had some magic soothing words that I could give you to dull the pain, but I am not smart enough. I can only send advice and I feel that is not good enough. We can not know what you feel because we are not you. We can only estimate the deep, sobbing, waves of emotion racing through your psyche. We do, however, offer encouragement and and a shoulder to rest upon even though it is at a distance; Our thoughts have no boundaries and those are with you.

The advice: Do not make major decisions during this period. Example of such decisions would be to sell the house or move to another country. Allow a healing time of about 1 year. Tackle life changing decisions after you feel ready. In the meantime, lean on your friends.

I'm so sorry for your loss and pain.

That's a double whammy for you. Even though it is not the same for you now, know that it will be okay and that he is near. Wishing you a good day today.

Dear Lynndale, I so understand your pain. I too lost my husband and there is no way to explain the hollow feeling. It truly is like losing part of yourself. It has been 15 years for me after 32 years of marriage and next week would have been our 47th anniversary.

Allow your self to grieve in any way that helps. I joined a bereavement group that was a life saver for me as there was no end time for group and we stayed together for more than 2 years. There is no reason to put a time table on your grief. I will keep you in my thoughts.

I'm sorry for the terrible sadness you're feeling right now. My inclination is to seek out people, especially kids when I'm sad, but of course everyone is different. Can you watch a funny movie or does that just seem wrong? I hope you're feeling better very soon.

I hope you will find comfort in friends -- and friends at the KT of course. It's hard accepting the finality of death. Knowing the pain will lessen is the only saving grace.

Oh I am so sorry for your loss. My sympathy to you. That is truly my greatest fear. Especially now in this stressful time and him working so hard. Please do something special for your anniversary you know he would want that.

Lynn, 6 months isn't very long, so I know you are still feeling the horrible pain of the loss. Please know that others here care and send you tender wishes for better times ahead.

I am so very sorry you are going through this, lynndale. Things will be OK. That can mean different things for different people. You may feel sad for a very long time on special days or completely random days; and that' s fine. We all process things differently and at different rates. I tend to think that we 'get there' only when we are ready.

I really wish I could make it better for you right now. Time does help--it may not dull the pain but we can become more practiced at getting through those low moments; and knowing that those sad feelings will end can help.

Therapy can help, especially if you start to feel overwhelmed or hopeless.

I've always heard that the most difficult point in the grieving process is the six-month point because it's when it becomes more "real" that the person is really gone. Perhaps it makes sense, then, that you are feeling particularly mournful now. Loss is so hard, and so hard to comprehend. I'm very sorry for your loss.

it seems strange but at the 6th month after my father's passing, my mother made the best move she ever had...she moved! it was from their apt, to a mobile home, just minutes away....it was the first time in 25 years she had what she considered her own home....and she lived there till she was unsure of being alone, and made her last move and worst, back to our home in mi (from las vegas) but what she attained living alone was independence i'd never seen...she joined a elder swim, made some great friends, did some traveling, and eventually was ok being alone...while she missed my dad to day she died, it was ok...bless you...

The thing is... I am 61 and never expected to be alone at this point in my life. Too young to live life with no one to share it with, too old to want to start over. He was the love of my life.

I can hardly stop crying for you. I want you to have another chance at love. You are young and there can be a good Part 2 to your life. But for now your heart is broken. I would cry it out. And for no known reason you will have a good day soon.

I'm sorry Lynn, my Mom (Lynn) died after 41 years married to my father @ 60yrs old. Forward 3 yrs later and he remarried. My Mother was his sole mate and not a day goes by that he doesn't miss her. His life though vastly different than the life he had is full. He consumes himself with the care of animals now. I remember growing up we had to beg for the 1 cat we had but he now has 12 plus other pets & livestock.
