5-1-1 which bark fines?

I haven't found an ideal source for partially decomposed pine bark fines, and I'm now sifting bark out of other mixes, such as soil conditioner. I have on hand two different types.

On the left is from a bag of conditioner that lists it as "aged bark fines," which seems good and partially decomposed. The bigger pieces look hard but can be crushed by hand.

The right side came from a bag that contains both fir bark and aged redwood. Its pieces are more like shavings.

Which do you think would be better to use in the mix? Can I use both and not worry about it?
